Scooter rental was done swiftly at the resort. Breakfast was amazing. The pool was perfect. The rooms were comfortable. This hotel totally met all of our expectations! We booked the room with a private pool, and it was super nice. The room was clean, the staff was extremely friendly and the breakfast was delicious. They offer so many choices, that I already regret staying for just one night, because I would’ve loved to try every single option on the menu! I highly recommend staying at this place!

An Island Dream

The dream destination of Bali is where volcanic landscape meets lush rice terraces and pristine beaches. Not to mention the fantastic surfing, cheap shopping and pervading spirituality that have made this Indonesian island a long-time favourite for backpackers.

The island’s capital is Denpasar in the south, but its surf and party capital is nearby Kuta. Swaying palm trees line the beach here and many more cover the grounds of the Bali hotels on the beach in more exclusive Seminyak to the north.

On the island’s north coast, Pemuteran beach offers lovely views of the sloping mountains heading towards the Bali Sea. Many beaches on this coast are black sand, including sweeping Lovina beach from where dolphins can often be seen.     We stayed in one of the room with a private pool, and it was such an incredible experience. The view in the morning was breathtaking—you could see the mountains clearly, and the surrounding nature made everything feel so peaceful and secluded. The private pool was definitely the highlight. We spent most of the day there, completely relaxed, without even needing to go to the main pool. You have everything you need right at your fingertips. The staff were incredibly kind and attentive, which made our stay even more special. Yes, the price is a bit higher compared to other places, but it’s absolutely worth it—even if just for one or two nights. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a bit of luxury and tranquility during your stay. The spa at the hotel was also top-notch—truly a wonderful experience. The ladies there were amazing, and I’d absolutely recommend treating yourself while you’re there.

    When we read reviews we expect something nice. But when we came here it was BREATHTAKING. Some guests in reviews are complaining about the 200 stairs… it’s worth to go up and down because this location is really a dreamy Dreamsea. Rooms are so nicely decorated, perfect size, bed is ok, AC is great, breakfast is delicious, stuff is so kind and helpful. We had “zen mode” in this hotel and the view took my heart away. And bellyboy help you with luggage, there is no worries about that.

    I liked Ubud a lot better than Uluwatu and I think it is a very good introduction to Bali. It is extremely chaotic, so having the hotel so quiet and relaxing, slightly tucked away was an excellent combination. We could have stayed longer, but our trip was short so we used Ubud as the first taste of Bali.

    Busy!

    Busy! Lots of restaurants and bars though, shops and massage, beauty places. Narrow pavements like much of Bali. Beach is lovely and wide, quite hard to swim but good for a dip and great for surf lessons.

    Bali has changed for the worse since we where there last (before Covid). It is no longer the "awesome value" holiday destination. Most (probably all) the accommodation and eateries are owned by ex-pat Aussies and, as a consequence, the prices you pay for eating out and accommodation are "Melbourne" prices - eg. Spice Mantra entrees are around AU$16 plus about 20% in additional taxes. Maybe the business owners are trying to make up for what they lost during Covid??? I think that is why other holiday destinations (such as Vietnam) are becoming more popular.

    Sanur like other places in Bali is busy, but the new Icon shopping centre has everything one needs, of course there is still Arte Sedana the traditional balinese shop, with the Peri Plus Bookstore. The Beaches and Hotels are beautiful, again all busy and all preferred by European Travellers, French, Germans, Dutch and English people.

    you can see it in 2 days pretty much. We did find some great little restaurants. Coco Penida and Tropiz. food and service were excellent. Penida is a must see but probably once every blue moon is enough

    Great small island best stay here the longest part of your trip not the shortest, I was here 15 years ago and its hardly changed unlike the rest of Bali. Mushroom beach is defiantly the best place for lazy style island life! If you don't stay in a beach front you may be disappointed with the surroundings and unmade roads around Mushroom bay so stay as close to the beach as possible, Beanbag beach night dining and each beachside restaurant has a small camp fire on the beach at night. Same as everywhere in SE Asia a few steps off the beach and the warungs are 1/2 the price of beachfront food and drinks. Suits couples and families best as there is no nightlife at this end of the island although beachfront has live music most nights! I could spend my entire Bali trip on Lembongan.

    Love the hustle bustle of Legian, we always come back to the same area. Our favourite tattoo shop is Ketut at Black Dragon on Jl padma timur no 7 and our favourite amazing massage place is Rehat day spa underneath the GrandMas hotel. We love bartering with all the local shops and there are heaps of fixed price shops if you just want to shop in peace (like the 100% genuine fake shop opposite Mecure Legian) Sooooooo many food options such as The Deck (yummy satays), The Daily Habit (amazing waffles) or The Pad on Bene (dragonfruit smoothie for the win) and Kenji (Japanese), amazing coffee at Crema or Coffee Melbourne and ice creams at all the little streetside shops.

    Each beach very different,so travelled quite a bit to get to them-lots to see & do away from the beach eg visited the elephant sanctury,released day old turtles on kuta beach.Ubud was a great place to visit-we went to an indonesian dance show at the palace which was amazing,great markets here but be where the traffic here is horrendous!
