FAQs about hotels in Bali
An Island Dream
The dream destination of Bali is where volcanic landscape meets lush rice terraces and pristine beaches. Not to mention the fantastic surfing, cheap shopping and pervading spirituality that have made this Indonesian island a long-time favourite for backpackers.
The island’s capital is Denpasar in the south, but its surf and party capital is nearby Kuta. Swaying palm trees line the beach here and many more cover the grounds of the Bali hotels on the beach in more exclusive Seminyak to the north.
On the island’s north coast, Pemuteran beach offers lovely views of the sloping mountains heading towards the Bali Sea. Many beaches on this coast are black sand, including sweeping Lovina beach from where dolphins can often be seen. Tulamben in the east is one of the better diving resorts in Bali, while Sanur is a popular option for families.
Ubud is the island’s cultural capital and houses a monkey sanctuary in its jungle-like landscape. An ancient Hindu temple is found here, but the best-known temple is Tanah Lot, surrounded by water. There are also hundreds of fantastic spas in Bali, as well as meditation and yoga classes that you can join.
Whether you choose to stay inland or by the beautiful coastline, Booking.com has a great range of villas, guest houses and hotels in Bali.

I liked Ubud a lot better than Uluwatu and I think it is a very good introduction to Bali. It is extremely chaotic, so having the hotel so quiet and relaxing, slightly tucked away was an excellent combination. We could have stayed longer, but our trip was short so we used Ubud as the first taste of Bali.Guest review bySaraUnited Kingdom - 8.0
Busy!
Busy! Lots of restaurants and bars though, shops and massage, beauty places. Narrow pavements like much of Bali. Beach is lovely and wide, quite hard to swim but good for a dip and great for surf lessons.Guest review byAnthonyUnited Kingdom - 8.0

Nice and close to Nuanu, which definitely needs more than a day to see. Beautiful beach club and amazing light art installations. Got to hold a bat at Tanah Lot - but don’t get the Gado Gado from the restaurants there.Guest review byStaceyAustralia - 8.0

Seminyak is a lively place but not as crazy as Kuta or Legian. Good places to eat, have a massage, relax on the beach, go to hair salons (if that is your thing) and shop at upmarket shops or down at the flea market where there was also cooking classes going on. Can't beat a few days in Seminyak. Never stay for too long before heading some place else but always good for a few days, normally last few before we head home.Guest review byadrianAustralia - 10.0
Uluwatu is an amazing place!
Uluwatu is an amazing place! We explored the area by motorbike and taxi, spent our days surfing and relaxing on the beaches, and enjoyed the local restaurants. The people are very friendly, and everything has great quality—it was a truly memorable experience.Guest review byJuan ManuelAustralia - 10.0

Sanur like other places in Bali is busy, but the new Icon shopping centre has everything one needs, of course there is still Arte Sedana the traditional balinese shop, with the Peri Plus Bookstore. The Beaches and Hotels are beautiful, again all busy and all preferred by European Travellers, French, Germans, Dutch and English people.Guest review byKarinAustralia - 8.0
you can see it in 2 days pretty much.
you can see it in 2 days pretty much. We did find some great little restaurants. Coco Penida and Tropiz. food and service were excellent. Penida is a must see but probably once every blue moon is enoughGuest review byGarryAustralia - 10.0
Great small island best stay here the longest part of your...
Great small island best stay here the longest part of your trip not the shortest, I was here 15 years ago and its hardly changed unlike the rest of Bali. Mushroom beach is defiantly the best place for lazy style island life! If you don't stay in a beach front you may be disappointed with the surroundings and unmade roads around Mushroom bay so stay as close to the beach as possible, Beanbag beach night dining and each beachside restaurant has a small camp fire on the beach at night. Same as everywhere in SE Asia a few steps off the beach and the warungs are 1/2 the price of beachfront food and drinks. Suits couples and families best as there is no nightlife at this end of the island although beachfront has live music most nights! I could spend my entire Bali trip on Lembongan.Guest review byDennisAustralia - 10.0
I love Legian, the beach is magic.
I love Legian, the beach is magic. The western restaurants and cafes and shocking, food is rubbish, over priced, lazy staff. Filthy smokers never consider non smokers and feel it’s ok to smoke while people eat. They ruin this townGuest review byDanielleAustralia - 8.0
