This is a wonderful, brand new hotel just opposite Zadar on the island of Ugljan in a small harbor. The staff is extremely helpful and motivated - both early check-in and late check-out were arranged for free within minutes. The service was also great (the breakfast could have been a little more extensive). The room was also very comfortable, the windows and doors completely blocked out the loud noise of the party outside. There are several beaches in the area within a few hundred meters for children and adults (deep water). Within a few kilometers on the island we found several small bays where there are only a few people and you can snorkel very well. We will definitely come back.

The campsite is fab on this beautiful island. Remote but close to Ugljan village with plenty of places to eat, the campsite is quiet but has so much to explore. Great little natural pool, lovely bar and beach…wow! The water is stunning and you can hire SUPs and kayaks there for reasonable prices. We stayed in a 3 bed mobile home and it was great for our group of seven. The interior is well appointment, modern and clean and the veranda was perfect for dinner at night. They have a BBQ pit near the pool and washing facilities too. We will be back if we return to Croatia.

We were greeted by the host and provided with all possible information about the property, the local facilities and sights around the island to maximise our experience. The property offers an amazing view of Lukoran bay, whilst sitting on a stone patio with swimming pool if the sea view is all you’d want! The local facilities offer a good range of essentials and then a few miles down the road is a bigger market with fresh cooked produce for an easy option. The sights around the island are incredible, from the multiple islands visible from the top of the islands to mosaic benches dotted around the island with great opportunities for sunset walks. Back to the apartment and host - two words sum up our experience - the best!

Everything was great. Apartment large, spotless, comfy beds, great kitchen. The location was wonderful, close to the village and to the beautiful bay. (Both a 3 min walk). Next to the woodland walk and walk along the shore to Kali. Two beautiful terraces to sit on. Host was super lovely and accommodating, will definitely be back.

The two-bedroom, two-bathroom apartment is spacious and clean. The balcony is huge with a nice table and chairs and a gorgeous sea view. The pool area and garden are perfect! Our hosts were helpful, accommodating, and very generous. Preko is a quiet escape from busy Zadar with plenty of good restaurants to choose from, 2 grocery stores and bike rental nearby. We walked everywhere.

    Me and my wife have been enjoying a week with half-board at the newly renovated Stari Dvor hotel. It's a small hotel with only ~20 rooms. Everything has been clean and the rooms are minimalistically decorated (nordic-style?). They provide soap and shower gel so bring conditioner if needed.The beds were excellent and we slept well with the quiet AC cooling the room. The staff has been very friendly and helpful during our visit. We can see that they struggle a bit with only 6(?) people managing the whole facility. They seem to cope well though! The peak of our stay was the food! The young chef Tilen prepared a fantastic 3-course food experience every evening. He isn't shy of experiment with ingridients, textures and flavors in a really tasteful and fun way. I would really recommend the halv board as there are few restaurant in the vincinity of the hotel and you would'nt want to miss out on good food we've had. The only thing we missed on the breakfirst buffet was some yoghurt. It's basic but good enough for us. During our stay (no car) we took hikes to nearby towns. The island is surprisingly green even during peak heat in the summer. Plan your luches as the restaurants are few and sparse in the west/north of the hotel.

    The view and location of the apartment were amazing. We lived directly across the sea. There are not many restaurant in Kali itself, and we had to drive to Preko for the supermarket, pharmacy, and more variety of restaurants. However, it was so empty and quiet in Kali itself that we did not care to go for a drive everyday. The apartment had everything we needed and was clean. We had two air conditioners, a big fridge, a dishwasher, oven, microwave, and so on. There is also a big parking place in front of the door, a bistro for drinks and lunch, and we spend most our days at the beach in front of the apartment. The hosts were lovely and informed us about things we could do here. They also organised a boat trip, which was our highlight.

    Super clean modern minimalist apartment. It has two bedrooms, one living room, a fully equipped kitchen, two bathrooms and three toilets. There is an AC in every room and since we stayed in March, we used it for heating. The heating was powerful, no cold whatsoever. Preko is a tiny lovely town and this apartment is in the very centre of it. Even out of the season, everything was a few metres away (sea, grocery stores, restaurants). Parking was free, again, a few metres from the entrance to the building.

    Both the property and the location are simply amazing! First we planned to travel frequently to the “main” land or other islands, but then felt so comfortable and in peace, that spent most of days by the villa, enjoining the nearest beaches, the pool and gorgeous view on the sunsets. Property is very well maintained, has everything you need even for the longer stay, and was spotlessly clean. The contact with the owner was great, we got a number of useful tips of what to do and where to go.

    The house is amazing and spacious, and hosts so nice and helpful. We were here with 4 little kids and everything was perfect. Beautiful view from house. For kids nice garden with turtles and little cat. Beach just 20 steps from house. Island is also perfect, calm, without too many people even in July. You can also buy delicious olive oil here. We highly recommend it for everyone.

    Everything - apartments are light, spatious, with almost everything you need, incl. A/C, in pine woods. The town is small but you can find numerous restaurants, small convenience stores. You can get bikes, kayaks, trips on boat etc. Staff was nice and always helpful. You can go to Zadar, lovely historical town. Best holiday ever.

    Beach Jaz is good for kids and poor swimmers. The little island is a delight. We stayed only a short while and I got hit by a cold so we didn't really get around much. All needed infrastructure is near and there are enough connections to Zadar is someone wants more.

    Kali is a pleasant village on the island of Ugljan, where you will definitely not be bored. Immediately after our arrival, we attended a three-day fishing festival and a procession the next day, tried out a renowned fish restaurant, and got to know the locals. If you want to go somewhere where there is something going on, Kali is the right place. At least in August, when we visited Kali.

    The island of Uglijan is an absolutely amazing island that is not yet heavily affected by tourism, so you are more likely to meet Croatian locals here. Easy transport to the island by ferry at a great price. The island also features attractions such as the Sveti Mihovil fortress and the 6th-century ruins of Pustograd. Crystal clear sea, lots of greenery, and friendly locals.

    Very peaceful little town on the shore which is connected to Preko where the ferry docks. A few restaurants and bars and great for a chilled peaceful holiday with easy access to the calm sea for swimming and snorkelling. Good for a car free holiday with lots of local amenities and a reliable regular bus service to get around the island. About 30 minutes walk along the shore from the ferry terminal. Easy to go over to Zadar but with the more relaxed feel of an island.

    Preko is a very beautiful and magical place with its own, rather calm atmosphere. Suitable for relaxing by the sea, walking, sitting in cafes and restaurants. But it is also worth more active walks, exploring the island, the view from the castle of St. Michael on the surrounding islands, etc. The color of the water is incredible and clear.

    Kali is a small and quiet town on the island of Ugljan, right by the sea. It has several small shops and one larger one, as well as restaurants and cafés. If you are looking for a peaceful place, Kali is just right for you. If you prefer more hustle and bustle, the larger town of Preko is within walking distance.

    The island is not as crowded as the tourist cities on the mainland. The ferry port, Preko, has nice restaurants and shops. There is bus service although it seems more sparse since there are a lot of cars on the island. We used it several times to get to Preko. Uber is unreliable. Cabs are available but it can become expensive if you have to use them a lot. A lot of people use bikes to get around. The island is not as hectic as the mainland so it was enjoyable.

    If you travel with children age below 10 and without own car...

    If you travel with children age below 10 and without own car be aware that Poljana does not have much public transportation nor taxis. Distance to ferryport is around 2km so be prepared to carry small kids and dont wear sandals but good shoes when you come back late in evening from mainland watching magic sunset.

    Kali is laid back and peaceful. The beaches are clean. If you have mobility issues be careful as there are some steep hills, but we were glad of the exercise to justify another ice cream. I think hiring bicycles would be ideal as the roads are very quiet and views spectacular.. The ferries are frequent and excellent value from As far old town and ferry port to the south.. Don't be put off from going by the ferry. It was easy to get a ticket and a very enjoyable crossing.
