Beautiful bungalow in the jungle. We booked probably the biggest cottage, in reality it turned out to be even more beautiful than in the pictures. Tasty food and unique atmosphere!

I loved my stay here! The garden, the yoga deck, the river. This place is amazing! The dorm is very cute and the family dinners are delicious (the portions are very generous). Recommend renting a kayak for a day of exploration!

When we arrived we felt like at home. All of their workers there are super nice, have a nice smile and they make everything happen that you feel super nice there. The standard of everything there is just higher than in any other hotel we have been so far in Guatemala. If it comes to the shower, bathroom, bed or any other facilities, it’s just great! Also the small details! And the best thing is really as already mentioned the staff there. This is one of the hotels where you will say in a few years, remember the „El Viajero“ in rio dulce, and you‘ll immediately remember which one it was.

Nice staff and room! It is noisy die to the road but if you live in the city it is the same amount of noise. We were so tired from our trip from Mexico city and went straight to Rio dulce it was easy for us to fall a sleep Also pick up (collectivo/public boat) from the hotel to Livingstone and other river lodges

we were welcomed with open arms in this absolutely charming hotel the staff were extremely kind and discreet, and the owner is just adorable - extremely attentive and friendly The ladies in the kitchen were real sweethearts, the food was absolutely incredible My partner's massage was, in her words, unforgettable. They booked us a boat to visit Livingston & Playa Blanca. Best of all, we were able to take a cooking lesson from Andrea, the head chef - a real sweetheart, everyone would love to have a mom or grandmother like Andrea. I'll be able to post photos of all my favorites - fish tacos - caramelised french toats - chia pudding - green smoothie Thanks for making our stay a really good moment

The hotel is in the middle of the jungle which makes it really beautiful. You can explore everything by kayak (they are free), there is a swimming platform in the river and there are a lot of hammocks and seating areas in the hotel to just enojoy yourself. Although it's remote you can easily reach the town of rio dulce by boat which the hotel staff can arrange for you. The staff is really friendly and helpful - knowing spanish makes your life a lot easier, but some speak english or even german. You can get everything from water to food at the hotel. The rooms and the bathroom were very clean, there are mosquito nets over the beds and the fan is really powerful. Very good value for money!

Lovely lodge in the jungle. Suggestive location with rooms in the canals with crocodiles (don’t worry they wont eat you!). Rooms were perfect for being a lodge. A couple of nice activities are available such as a walk in the jungle and kayak in the lake. Most pleasant surprise was the food… simply extraordinary for a low price compared to Europe, and I’m quite picky usually as Italian.

Rio Dulce is a great spot to vacation, it's very relaxing.

Rio Dulce is a great spot to vacation, it's very relaxing. If you want more night life...then probably best to stay in Livingston. If you are ever in Livingston, the best Tapado was at a small restaurant Restaurante Gabby!! Unforgettable!! El Viajero didn't come close in flavor, maybe we just went on a bad day. Must see Siete Altares, beautiful waterfalls and blue turquoise water. We never felt unsafe, it's a very tranquil place in Rio Dulce.

Great spot on the Rio Dulce from which to visit other places on the river away from the congestion and noise of the towns of Livingston and Rio Dulce (actually Fronteras). The manatee preserve, the island of birds (Isla de Pájaros), Burnt Key (Cayo Quemado) and the canyon of the Rio Dulce are all relatively close. We enjoyed having lunch over at Mini-Mike’s Juke Joint on Burnt Key and at Casa Nostra in Livingston. Both of which have their own docks so we went directly by boat (arranged by Tenamit Maya for very reasonable prices).

If you travel solo you can't do anything as it's just for groups else yours are in excess of £250! It's not safe to hike to seven altars alone (I was told by locals) so it's just very far for no reason. The bus from GC was supposed to be 5 hours but it was 11!
