Exciting Holidays for Everyone
Surrounded by clear blue waters, Zakynthos (or Zante) is the 3rd largest island in the Ionian Sea, named after the son of Dardanus. This green island features mountain villages, fertile plains and gorgeous beaches.
Zakynthos was destroyed after the Great Earthquake of 1953 and rebuilt according to an anti-seismic code. Some of the buildings which were not damaged are St. Dionysios Cathedral, the National Bank and the church of St. Nicholas.
The island has one of the most famous Greek attractions - the spectacular Navagio Beach. Accessible only by boat, the 'Shipwreck' is an isolated beach with white pebbles and turquoise waters.
Set amongst olive groves and vineyards, the tourist resort of Tsilivi is full of traditional taverns and bars. The beach village of Laganas is a real gem for young people that love clubbing and are looking for a hotel on the Strip, but also for families seeking a shallow beach and warm waters. The Caretta turtle visits Laganas beach during its reproductive period and lays its eggs on the soft, golden sand.

There are lots of places to eat and drink in the town as well as a variety of shops. The town is very accessible from the airport and ferry port. There is a town beach within easy walking distance. We loved Tsilivi, it is not too quiet and not too busy.
We loved Tsilivi, it is not too quiet and not too busy. There are plenty of good restaurants, the beach is very nice as well with a smooth entry in the water and a long distance until it becomes too deep. Most of the beach has suneds, a pair + an umbrella starts at 20 euros a day. There are also a few places to go for fun activities such as mini golf, bowling, pool and a game arena. Small village with plenty of choice of eateries, bars and mainly tourust shops. Not the best beach in Zante but nice enough if you're lucky enough to bag one of the limited good spots. Lots to do and see , beaches are lovely . Dafnis taverna my favourite . The staff are so kind and friendly . They remember you from past trips . Traditional Greek foods . Vintage steak house great family run restaurant . The iguana bar is so nice and nice bar meals in the day . Zante town is a must in the harbour . Bliss hsirdressers is a good place to try hair and nails . Locals are very welcoming . Cave bar is a good photo opportunity. Garden village apartments are beautiful . Amoudi is such a friendly place and will make you want to yearn to come back again and again .It is a quiet place but will make you welcome and is a beach lovers paradise .Plenty of good quality places to dine out at reasonable prices. Met numerous people who were regulars at the resort and I can understand why they come back again and again. I am hoping to do the same myself at my earliest opportunity and will advise other friends to do the same. Good selection of restaurants at fair prices, Greccos for fresh fish was superb and plenty of places served authentic Greek dishes. We found that 'free wine' was best avoided although the food was good! Costa's on the beach was very good and Shoestring further down the coast is well worth a visit. The Mitsos Hotel welcomes visitors and has a large swimming pool and refreshments served to sunbeds for anyone who goes there - all you have to do is buy refreshments at reasonable prices. This seems to apply to all places with a pool and sunbeds. The hire car was a mixed blessing as the satnav had to be paired with my mobile phone and sat coverage is partial. Calm and very nice area. Close to the sea, perfect for relaxation, away from the crowds. The only thing i do not like, but this is not related to this specific area, are the roads.
