I had a great experience at Hotel Europa Olympia! The views from the hotel are very nice, and the rooms are very comfortable. The staff were extremely attentive and friendly. The hotel is situated practically on the beautiful beach, separated only by a pretty-looking, well-maintained garden. The room is spacious, comfortable and very clean, and have a fantastic view over the Sea at any time of day, but especially at the Sunset. Fresh and tasty breakfast, beautiful beach with lounge chairs and shades, grreat food at the nearby Taverna. The Staff is very friendly and helpful. We hope to return soon! Also, if you are lucky (and quiet!) like we were, and you enjoy walks on the beach at night, you might encounter Loggerhead Turtles (Caretta caretta) out on the shore nesting, as the place is a well-known Conservation Area for this endangered species. A wonderful experience!

This property was stunning. A fully renovated traditional villa which oozed with local character both in architecture and interior design. It was spotless with crispy clean linen. The fridge had an array of refreshments with in-room coffee facilities. All facilities stated on the website were provided. The staff were warm, very helpful and easily available. The breakfast was superb, and offered an array of traditional treats. I highly recommend this property and can't wait to return.

I love this place, this hotel and its staff! Every time I come here from a big noisy city, full of stress and work, to recover in this paradise. Everything is provided for this: excellent comfortable rooms with a view of the beautiful sea, a sandy clean beach, always clear pure water without jellyfish and other sea troubles, comfortable and soft sun loungers and snow-white towels, wonderful blue pools, friendly and welcoming staff (professionals work here!) and healing magical nature: sand, pine trees, flowers, olive trees... This is a place where everything is thought out and nothing irritates. The room has everything: a coffee machine and a kettle, huge mirrors and a small mirror for applying cosmetics - exactly at the level you need, a large bathroom, a huge balcony, where it is so nice to relax in the shade on a hot afternoon. By the way, there are many families with children of all ages here, but you will not hear them on the beach: all the children frolic all day in the water park on the other side, so the beach itself is perfectly quiet. Separate, but very important, attention should be paid to the SPA complex - it is wonderful! In a couple of massage sessions, you will again become happy and balanced, your body will become light, as if you were no more than 17 years old. The best are lymph massage by Christina and classic massage with oils by Marcella - these are wonderful masters. I also definitely recommend you hydromassage in a pool with sea water with Zeta (Georgia). You will receive colossal fun, especially if you are together with a partner or a friends! Finally, I would like to write about the food: there are excellent cooks here! You will get everything you want: the most delicious dishes and huge selection - everything fresh and everything unusually delicious! You will eat heartily, but you will not gain weight, because there is a great balance of healthy and quality food. Overall, it's a magical place and I recommend it without any hesitation.

Great location, if you have a car, to get to Olympia. Lovely town square with great selection of restaurants to eat at - mainly Italian themed as opposed to Greek. Beaches are not well advertised as to where to park near to them. Suggest 2 day stay - one day Olympia and one day beach.

We were on a "pilgrammage" of sorts intended to seek out our familial origins and were travelling by a rented vehicle from Eurocar which we picked up at the Athens Airport. This was a major winner for us! Take your GPS with you and enjoy the encredibly well organized motor ways that would best be described as excellent in every way. Kyllini was easy to find just off the West Coast and in good striking distance for other sites. It is a port city, really, with Ferry traffic to the Islands which could have made it noisy and unpleasant. However, such was not the case with super restaurant facilities and the Greek Pastries in the local shops were simply scrumptious. Have fun!

Zacharo is really, really Greek and there seemed to be absolutely nothing happening. I figure you have three alternatives to fill your time: swim or stare at the sea during the day, sit at a cafe and gossip at night, or get through War & Peace.

It’s a very remote town.

It’s a very remote town. A very long and tiring drive to get there, and not much to visit. The town is just average and all the restaurants were closed in April. Nice scenery and very nice people. It’ll probably be more appealing in summer when is hot down the mountains and all the restaurants and coffee shops are open.

Go when not so crowded or hot. We did well at end of September. I highly recommend if you have a car to do a free Olive Oil tour & tasting at OILYPIAN Koufolias Olive Oil Mill about 15 min away from town. I also loved OLYBEEA for family run local honey which you may sample before you buy! Have a meal up the hill (you can walk but best with car) at The Garden :) You will dine under olive trees & get a great view. Try to eat around sunset for a treat!

Zakharo is a small town near Kakovatos the little village where the Ostria Hotel Beach is located indeed. Zakharo is fantastic. The town's activity is between a beach town with restaurants, cafés, stores and an agricultural town with a lot of trucks and tractors crossing by. The bus station is not far from the center. I also walked on the Beach until the Ostria Hotel. It is quite a long walk. There are a few restaurants, the sunset is amazing.

Katakolon is the main port for cruise liners where guests are visiting Olympia and seems geared up largely for this purpose. It is quite a pleasant seaside town but nothing exceptional. When we were there there were no cruise ships in port and it was very quiet. All of the seafront restaurants and bars were open so we had our pick, but a lot of the shops were close for most of the time we were there. Olympia is about a 30 minute drive from here.
