The view from the room was stunning. The room was very clean at the beginning and also during our stay. The cleaning lady made a marvelous job! The breakfast was very fine with local products changing every day. The view from the terrasse with the morning coffee was amazing as well. Irini made our stay as comfortable as possible and organized a trip and made sure our ferry was not cancelled. The luggage transport from the harbour to hotel and back was really useful and well organized as well. We do absolutly recommend this wonderful hotel and crew for a stay in Astypalea.

Fantastic villa in lovely location just a few minutes walk uphill from a little beach with restaurants, 2 supermarkets and a bus stop. Lovely views from the terrace down to the beach and up to beautiful Chora with it's ruined castle on top which is lit up at night. Hosts were really friendly and brought us lovely, sometimes homemade goodies. Hope to return one day.

Grandmas breakfast was amazing with so much choice and everything was delicious - especially the orange cake and buckwheat pot. The bed was huge and very comfortable. I was very happy to see many eco choices made at Kallichoron and on the island. The location is perfect - right next to the windmills and close to many bars and restaurants. Highly recommended.

What a beautiful escape!! Kalderimi Residencies is perfectly located, a few minutes walk, close to Chora & Livadi beach. The apartment spotlessly clean and very tasteful with an exceptional view over the bay. The breakfast just absolutely delicious! The whole team is an example of Greek hospitality. Warm, kind - just wonderfully Greek.

The studio was perfect for a solo traveller or couple, super clean, tastefully decorated, super quiet, a lovely location just below the castle and just above the main square. Maria and her team kept it immaculate while I would go to the beach, and they left me generous provisions for morning coffee. I loved it!

The owners are extremely friendly and kind, they picked me up at the port at 4 30 am with no fuss at all. The room is very comfortable, has everything one could need. The restaurant on site is absolutely excellent, the atmosphere is friendly and not fussy. I enjoyed everything.

The two bedroom apartment was comfortable and spacious. Well equipped kitchen, beautiful balcony with an amazing view of Chora and Castro. The location is excellent, few minutes walk to Chora where you can find all the restaurants, cafes, bakery and supermarket.

The town is built on a very steep hillside, with most of the restaurants and bars at the top. In the summer there is a bus that runs from the beach to the top. If you come by ferry, check the sailing times, as most are middle of the night and the main port is not at Pera Gyalos. The roads leave a lot to be desired.

Analipsi is a gorgeous village in Astypalea.
If you are looking for a relaxed and peaceful stay, a gorgeous clean beach, low key cafes and restaurants (lots of fish dishes and seafood) it is THE perfect place to go. No noisy bikes / scooters. Perfect for couples (not much for children) wanting a stress free break.
Car hire would be beneficial to get to the Chora (a 15 minute drive) and enjoy the excellent views, and sample the lovely food. But it is possible to do without a car, using the bus or the "Astybus" which will pick you up on request.

Magical views, great food, good restaurants ( from 1/2$-$-$$) close to Livadi beach ( steep but walking distance) close to port . Cheap taxi service.5€ to get around.Astybus (electric small busses)picks you up where every you are ( cheap). Very friendly locals.

Another cute Greek island.
Another cute Greek island. I have been to 15+ Greek islands over 50 times in total. It is similar to many other Greek islands. Small, cute. The castle and the old town looks really lovely. We went in mid-August. Although the island had probably around 5000 visitors, because there are few restaurants and options, all places were packed. Most of my Greek friends consider Astypalaia as the best Greek island, however in my view it's fine, cute, but I wouldn't say it's more beautiful than many other Greek islands.
