The location was perfect so close to the pedestrian area. Very close to restaurants and beaches as well as the hiking trails. We liked the decor of the building and room. Loved everything Amazing nostalgic hotel for travelers with a car, looking for a peaceful holiday. Excellent beach front quiet location about a kilometer from Batsi Comfortable upgraded room with extensive see view, and a perfect balcony with sunbeds. Bathrobes slippers mini bar and coffee making facilities. Tasty Breakfast with excellent see view. A picturesque sandy beech at the bottom of the cliff with an even more scenic staircase leading there. Sunbeds, beachbar, just perfect. But the most valuable asset of the hotel is the young and dynamic staff led by Effi. They would help with anything you can imagine. Booking a visit to the cave, recommend restaurants, shower cap, mosquito repellent Hopefully, they would be able to keep this level of service for the rest of the season.

The hotel is simply great. The personnel is very nice and professional: they do everything to feel you at home, and succeed brilliantly. The location is great, right on the (private) beach, with a WOW! sea. The pool is very nice, too. Although there is not a proper internal restaurant, there is the possibility of having salads, pizzas, snacks (delicious) all over the day, and even brought to your sunbed on the beach. Really wonderful, we have been completely satisfied. The buffet breakfast is very rich, and delicious.

A Perfect Combination of Culture and Fun

A favoured weekend destination, the island of Andros is only an hour and a half away from Athens. Named after Andros, a hero descending from the line of God Apollo, this beautiful island features traditional villages, golden beaches, high mountains, small rivers and green valleys.

Featuring great nautical tradition and home to famous Greek sailors, Andros is not similar with any other island in the Cyclades. This small paradise is a great cultural destination thanks to its many museums and their unique collections of paintings, sculptures and archaeological exhibits.

The lovely Chora is the capital of Andros and one of the most popular villages of the island. Wander around the narrow alleys, admire the Neoclassical and Venetian-style houses, and admire the beautiful stone bridge.

Rich in history, the island has several towers including the tower of Ayios Petros and Fryktoria. Built by Venetians, the Pano Kastro was the largest city in Andros during the Middle Ages.

    We had an amazing time at Mare Vista. We stayed for three weeks and it was absolutely perfect. The bedroom was very spacious and the bed very comfortable. The view from our balcony was breathtaking. There was plenty of water in the bathroom which might be rare on an island (last year we stayed in an other hotel and they would often run out of water). The room is cleaned and fresh towels are provided everyday. The location is great, right above Batsì, one of the main centers of the island. At breakfast there was a wide variety of choice and all food was delicious. All the staff was amazing. A special mention for Sophia who works at the reception. She’s a very kind and friendly woman whom now we can call a friend. She has a lovely dog, Leonidas, we would have taken him back home with us but he loves his mama too much and so does she 🤣 We’ll always cherish the wonderful moments we had at Mare Vista. Eukaristó, everybody!

    Great apartment very close to a beach and the lovely centre of Batsi. Plenty of shops, restaurants, tavernas within easy walk. Batsi is a convenient location from which to explore the rest of the island particularly if you have a car. Trips to Andros town, villages and many beaches are easily achieved from this location. The hosts are super friendly and very welcoming. We were made to feel like friends coming back to a familiar resort. The resort is away from the main road making it very quiet of an evening.

    Perfect location to access the sandy beaches across the street. We spent all our time at Kaliva Beach Lounge. Miss Irene was warm and welcoming and provided a great breakfast every morning.     Not a hospitable island! Third class and expensive facilities. Most of the locals are rude and it seems that they do not like visitors! If you want to visit Greece there are at least 100 beautiful islands and places to visit . This was the worst experience that I had in Greece and I feel ashamed that these guys claim to be Greeks Greeks are very friendly people ! Most of the islands even if they are small offer very good facilities! Do not waste your money and time in Andros . Concluding I would like to mention that I was very Impressed by the “Skalakia “ restaurant in chora! Excellent food and service. Mrs Maria was extremely friendly and professional. Make sure you reserve a table ahead of time.

    We were there in May so not quite season.

    We were there in May so not quite season. It’s very small but served as a good base to visit the island. Some good tavernas. Bit nothing else to do there. Not a beach nearby that is nice for swimming or tanning so would probably recommend Batsi over Gavrio.

    This is an ideal place if you don't like to be in the capital city with a lot of noise and traffic. You are far enough from the street and have your own peace and quiet, and at the same time you are very close to the city where there is entertainment and an active nightlife. Everything you need is in the area, restaurants, shops, beaches etc

    This is an amazing natural beach, some parts are sandy and others with small white pebbles. Not a lot of people around on the time of my visit (June). The surrounding landscape is beautiful. There is a small tavern above the beach.

    International cuisine but look for the hidden gems in little back streets with local food. Local taxi service in the square -but walk...its healthier! We had no children with us but this isnt 'waterworld'....take the kids to some fantastic quiet beaches away from the hoi polloi- theyll have more of an adventure of discovery.

    Lots to do on this beautiful island for all ages. We visited Gerolimni waterfall, Cave Foros, Korthi, the olive mill, the comtemporary art gallery. It was lovely to walk round the town and look at the statues, ancient fort the lighthouse a d takein the ambience. The local dive instructor was brilliant. Ran out of time for Batsi, wine tasting and some of the other museums. Lots of amazing restaurants too.
