Absolutely stunning building and location, the swing in the gardens was a really nice touch too. The most comfortable bed we've ever slept in and the room itself was beautiful. We could've sat in the bath overlooking the gardens all night. The decor throughout the hotel was breathtaking, so classy but cosy. We spent the evening in the bar playing chess and couldn't help from admiring every attention to detail that had been made. So many beautiful plants everywhere as well. Definitely our new favourite place for a little break, we didn't want to leave! 100% we will be back.

The setting of this place is absolutely stunning, very peaceful despite there being lots of people there. The woodland escape suite was perfect, everything you needed, situated very close the main building and restaurant. The staff could not do enough and were lovely. A Gorgeous homely yet modern property with the most welcoming of staff made for a truly enjoyable experience. My home-from-home for a week was comfortable, great value has great food and drink choices at very reasonable prices and the location was perfect for me. I stumbled across the establishment purely as they have Tesla EV chargers on site, and I was not disappointed by anything else the place has to offer! I’m now looking to find any excuse to visit again! Many Thanks to the entire team at Gwesty Links

This is a very comfortable hotel near the town centre. The owner and the staff were very pleasant and accommodating. For all you coeliacs the breakfast is large and gluten free even the sausages. The owner even bought a new toaster so my wife could have toast. The room was very comfortable and clean. The only downside is the entrance which is narrow but with a wide turn isn't a major problem.

FAQs about hotels in Wales

Land of the Hills and the Dales

A land of magnificent mountains, centuries-old castles and beautiful beaches, Wales is steeped in proud tradition. A centre of culture, its elegant capital Cardiff houses some of the 5-star hotels in Wales on Booking.com.

Swansea has several Wales hotels with swimming pools and is the gateway to the tranquil Gower Peninsula. It was also the birthplace of Dylan Thomas, whose famous boathouse is in Laugharne near the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park.

Within this park are St Davids, the UK’s smallest city, and the colourful South Wales beach resort of Tenby. Other beach resorts include the university town of Aberystwyth, Barmouth and Prestatyn with its Blue-Flag beach. Popular Llandudno has a long pier sheltered by a headland.

Also with a pier is Bangor, opposite Anglesey - a rugged island known for wildlife. It looks back towards Snowdonia National Park, whose changing landscapes encompass Wales’ tallest mountain. Within the park are serene Bala Lake and Betws-y-Coed whose fast-flowing river becomes the Swallow Falls.

The Brecon Beacons house more lush peaks, while Chepstow to the south-east has a racecourse and riverfront Norman castle. Other fantastic Wales castles are in Conwy, Harlech and Caernarfon – possibly the best of them all.

Wrexham is the largest North Wales town with great nightlife, while nearby Llangollen is best known as for its International Eisteddfod.

Everything about the place was amazing from walking into the building to the staff . The decor is fitting with the building and character - lots of unknown little areas to find . The rooms are perfect for relaxing in . We stayed in the Duchess suite such a beautiful room which was spacious and a huge comfortable bed . We had a view overlooking the menai strait and watched the sky change colour. The rooms were cleaned daily and towels changed . For an old building it was surprisingly warm - loved the open fire on entering the place. We had the afternoon tea in the drawing room with a perfect view of the Menai ! You can wander around the Chateau and be amazed at the way this beautiful building was designed. The staff were very friendly and made sure you were looked after . If you love old buildings this is a must to stay at. We will definitely be back !

The view of the sea, early in the morning, sitting in the window was incredible. So relaxing, area was quiet, room was spacious, breakfast was lovely. Fresh flowers in the room were a nice touch. Plus the made the bed is made every day and gave fresh towels every day, in the spirit of sustainability, I haven’t seen that in a hotel in quite a while.

Typical Victoriana interspliced withusual modern features (M&S, £land, charity shops). Beach fronts were clean and cared for. Easy bus routes with good frequencies. Several top quality restaurants, and fast food outlets. Many tactile pavement installations at crossing points, but with unintended consequences of flooding where surface water accumulates.

November is maybe not the best month to visit, but I spent a week. The beach looked like a tip. Swansea castle is.... well. Basically, a collection of walls. Nice shopping centre, but you can find those anywhere. Museum was interesting, especially the pottery. City itself is fairly rundown. Like with any bigger city in the UK, plenty of choices for meals, both cheap and a bit more upscale. As a woman, I felt safe walking back to the hotel after an evening at the theatre. The Grand Theatre is beautiful.

There is enough to do for a few days out of season and it is an interesting place. Some parts of the town are tired but it was a lot better than many seaside towns. Lovely traditional seaside town. Friendly and welcoming. Great variety of unusual shops selling beautiful gifts. Not a huge selection of big chain shops which is a bonus. No banks at all which is worrying for tourists and locals alike. Great pubs and restaurants all within walking distance. Wonderfully clean beaches, views spectacular. Great place for families as well as couples alone. Something for everyone and every taste.

Beautiful historical walled town, with everything in a condensed area, in walkable distance. Still uncommercialised and quite untouched, which makes it exceptional. Transport to other areas by train is in walking distance, hop on, hop off bus comes from Llandudno, and is a great way to see a bit more. Great places to eat drink and visit - Liverpool Arms, Albion Arms - 2 great pubs, The Mulberry and Alfredos are great for food, Fishermans Chip Shot for a takeaway. Plas Mwa, Castle, and Castle Walls were great places to visit. We will definitively be back. We ❤️ Conwy

Carmarthen itself I love, although there's been a lot of changes since I last came down 25 years ago(which is to be expected!). It's still an interesting town centre with a great variety of shops while still retaining a lot of its character and history through it's architecture and inhabitants. The Carmarthenshire countryside is stunning!
