A Gorgeous homely yet modern property with the most welcoming of staff made for a truly enjoyable experience. My home-from-home for a week was comfortable, great value has great food and drink choices at very reasonable prices and the location was perfect for me. I stumbled across the establishment purely as they have Tesla EV chargers on site, and I was not disappointed by anything else the place has to offer! I’m now looking to find any excuse to visit again! Many Thanks to the entire team at Gwesty Links

FAQs about hotels in Wales

Land of the Hills and the Dales

A land of magnificent mountains, centuries-old castles and beautiful beaches, Wales is steeped in proud tradition. A centre of culture, its elegant capital Cardiff houses some of the 5-star hotels in Wales on Booking.com.

Swansea has several Wales hotels with swimming pools and is the gateway to the tranquil Gower Peninsula. It was also the birthplace of Dylan Thomas, whose famous boathouse is in Laugharne near the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park.

Within this park are St Davids, the UK’s smallest city, and the colourful South Wales beach resort of Tenby. Other beach resorts include the university town of Aberystwyth, Barmouth and Prestatyn with its Blue-Flag beach. Popular Llandudno has a long pier sheltered by a headland.

Also with a pier is Bangor, opposite Anglesey - a rugged island known for wildlife. It looks back towards Snowdonia National Park, whose changing landscapes encompass Wales’ tallest mountain. Within the park are serene Bala Lake and Betws-y-Coed whose fast-flowing river becomes the Swallow Falls.

The Brecon Beacons house more lush peaks, while Chepstow to the south-east has a racecourse and riverfront Norman castle. Other fantastic Wales castles are in Conwy, Harlech and Caernarfon – possibly the best of them all.

Wrexham is the largest North Wales town with great nightlife, while nearby Llangollen is best known as for its International Eisteddfod.

Cardiff is an interesting city that has much to offer.

Cardiff is an interesting city that has much to offer. The Bay Area is good for walks and entertainment with a superb concert hall and historic buildings including the Victorian Gothic terracotta Pierhead Building and wooden Norwegian church. The city centre is a busy shopping centre with some quirky old arcades, worth a browse, including Spillers, the oldest record shop in the world. The castle is not just a ruin but has sumptuous and ornate interiors by Victorian architect William Burges. To the North of the centre you will find the city Museum and Art Gallery which has an impressive collection of French Impressionist paintings. Cardiff University is also nearby, rising from the formal gardens of Cathays Park which look particularly beautiful when the Spring blossoms are out.

I have been a regular visitor to Llandudno now for many years ,the Orme is my favourite place along with the pier and the Ferris wheel there. The venue has lots of enjoyable shows and the Welsh snooker tournament is staged there. I recommend going to see a show while you are in town. The leisure centre and pool are also nearby and are clean and family friendly for those wanting to have a swim when on holiday too. I hope to finally relocate there to live permanently in early 2026 ,as when I am there at the end of each stay I never want to go home again.

There is enough to do for a few days out of season and it is an interesting place. Some parts of the town are tired but it was a lot better than many seaside towns. Vale of Rheidol railway and Devil's bridge is a must. EV charging in the car parks while you are on the train as well. What not to like.

Lovely traditional seaside town. Friendly and welcoming. Great variety of unusual shops selling beautiful gifts. Not a huge selection of big chain shops which is a bonus. No banks at all which is worrying for tourists and locals alike. Great pubs and restaurants all within walking distance. Wonderfully clean beaches, views spectacular. Great place for families as well as couples alone. Something for everyone and every taste.

Beautiful historical walled town, with everything in a condensed area, in walkable distance. Still uncommercialised and quite untouched, which makes it exceptional. Transport to other areas by train is in walking distance, hop on, hop off bus comes from Llandudno, and is a great way to see a bit more. Great places to eat drink and visit - Liverpool Arms, Albion Arms - 2 great pubs, The Mulberry and Alfredos are great for food, Fishermans Chip Shot for a takeaway. Plas Mwa, Castle, and Castle Walls were great places to visit. We will definitively be back. We ❤️ Conwy
