The staff were very helpful and did things in a timely manner. Very quick to respond, and very nice. I had to pay a deposit when I checked in, but I got the deposit back very quickly after checking out. The room had a nice view. It was very comfortable, and I would definitely reserve a room in this same hotel if I happen to visit Edinburgh again.

The place is simply amazing, great location if you are a tourist in Edinburgh, and a great place to visit with your friends. Great beer, amazing "small apartment" rooms, extremely nice crew (that I miss already), and a location on a fast track to both new and old city areas. Defiantly coming back over there.

My son Max and I had a magical stay at The Balmoral. The staff were just wonderful. Everyone went above and beyond to make our stay extra special for Max (age 9). Our trip to Edinburgh was a special treat because he's a huge Harry Potter fan. He absolutely loved Edinburgh and all it's Potter lore but the stay in the Balmoral was by far the highlight of his trip because of how kind everyone was to us (as well as it being a beautiful luxurious hotel of course).

    I could not fault anything. the location is prefect, right slam bang in the heart of things, breakfast was superb, as was the food and drink options in the Grand Cafe, which is a Must to go to. We were here for Hogmanay, and optioned for the theme diiner and dance. What an amazing way to entry into the New Year. Highly recommend. Well done to everyone that runs and works in this amazing, stunning hotel. It was a dream come true. Would like to leave a very special mention to Gamzie Welsh and Queenie Costa two amazing young ladies would love to give a big pat on the back for all their hard work and support given to sort out a little mixup.     I had the most splendid and unforgettable stay at The Marine in North Berwick, an experience that was elevated to sheer perfection by the exemplary team working there. Every member of staff demonstrated the utmost care and professionalism, from the attentive room attendant, whose meticulous efforts ensured comfort at every turn, to the exceptionally skilled masseuse, whose expertise was unparalleled. The hotel itself is a stunning sanctuary, and my time there was nothing short of enchanting. North Berwick’s charm only added to the magic, and I am already looking forward to returning to this beautiful haven.

    Easy to walk around and good public transport system - bus and tram - to get to outlying areas. Fantastic range of shops from well known High Street chains to several Designer stores. Great selection of restaurants catering to all tastes. Lively bars - Dirty Dick's was a particular favourite.

    Rooms are a good size and clean, beds are very comfortable, staff are friendly and informative, we left early so didn’t have the hot breakfast but the cold breakfast had a decent choice. Free shuttle bus to the airport every 10 minutes was a bonus

    Livingston is a quaint, calm neighbourhood. Although not easy to access an Uber, there are bus stops if you walk a few minutes, and Livingston North train station is of course a stop for the different rail services. We walked for about 15-20 mins to get to a station. Save the number of taxi operators ahead of your trip, if you're travelling with lots of luggage and want convenient drop offs and pick ups from/to your space in Livingston.

    The harbour is charming, and seeing the difference between high and low tide is remarkable. There is a lot of traffic on the high street but the shops are charming and mostly seem to be independent. Locally there is a great brewery, lovely beach and leisure centre with decent pool.

    While I found the room itself comfortable and well-presented...

    While I found the room itself comfortable and well-presented, unfortunately, the overall experience was significantly impacted by a series of distressing events. During the night, there were repeated electricity outages which triggered alarms multiple times. This culminated in the arrival of firefighters at my room—an unexpected and unsettling experience. To add to the concern, there was no staff present at the reception during this time, which left me feeling quite unsafe and unsupported. To date, I have not received any form of apology, explanation, or gesture of goodwill from your team. I believe a situation like this warrants not only a sincere apology but also a degree of accountability and customer care, especially considering the level of disruption and concern caused.

    Lovely weather, so walked round the loch (lake) to Linlithgow Peel (Park). Visited the Palace, - birthplace of Mary, Queen of Scots, Church & Museum, wonderful. Sampled great coffees, homemade lunches & baking in the several small independent cafes. Took train to Edinburgh and Glasgow, and car to Stirling. So easy and practical.

    Lovely little place with many quirky little shops and overlooked Lodge Grounds, which is a huge park-like space for walking, admiring gage aviary and many beautiful planted areas, and has a children’s play area. Most people head straight for the beach, but other attractions such as the museum and Seabird Centre, Berwick Law and sports centre, all well worth a visit. Parking can be a problem, but at the moment there is a free car park at the end of the High Street.

    Lovely quiet resort close to amenities with an excellent bus service. Went into Edinburgh every day and saw lots of sites such as the castle / dungeons/ Mary Kings close/ Obscura observatory and a witchy museum. We ate on site or in Edinburgh. All in all we had a fantastic time and made loads of memories.
