Clear directions for the self check in. Comfortable beds,beutifil living room with a small dining area facing outside, can nibble and enjoy the busy street view. Chippy and Chinese just 1min walk,very handy. The owner left a delightful surprise, a bottle of wine in the fridge, very thoughtful 😊 milk,coffee, and tea included along with the biscuits. All we needed we found in here :-)

Gorgeous little cottage just on the outskirts of Campbeltown. Short drive to local shops, Mull of Kintyre and Machrihanish. Newly renovated with a well equipped kitchen, Wifi and comfortable furnishings. So peaceful and lovely to be able to go for walks around the property. Caretakers on-site if you need them for anything and their friendly dog Alfie loves to come out and greet visitors. We enjoyed our stay so much we’ve already booked our next stay here !

I was only able to get one night at the Argyll Arms - they were fully booked my second night in Campbeltown. So I had to wait until 3pm to get access to the next accommodation I was able to book. The staff were super helpful and accommodating- allowed me to set up my workspace in a quiet corner, made sure I was warm enough and had drinks brought to me until 3pm when I could check into my next place. I really appreciated the great service.

They are beautiful chalets, each with its own terrace and entrance. beautiful furnishings and well maintained. the manager gave us a chalet with a closed area so that our dog could go outside alone to explore. Our chalet also had 2 toilets which was very handy. washing machine is also available.

We loved our stay at Anchor Hotel! Our room had a beautiful view over the habour. It was very clean, comfortable and the staff were very friendly. We could walk to dinner- a great place called Lullabelle’s on the foreshore. Short drive to Kennacraig ferry. Great breakfast too. Highly recommend!

Kintyre is absolutely gorgeous - so beautiful, unspoilt, rugged and wonderful. Campbeltown used to be a little run-down but it was looking pretty good with lots of independent shops, two distilleries and a busy yacht harbour. Campbeltown is a good base if you need buses and amenities and for shopping in supermarkets.

This was just an overnight stop on our way to Islay from Glasgow - we took an afternoon bus to Tarbert and got private transport to Kennakraig ferry terminal the morning after. The town was lovely, with a nice castle and a couple of good restaurants as well as a pub with plenty of whisky options. We might have even stayed a bit longer had we known it was such a lovely place.

There is very little to do in Tarbet but the surrounding areas are varied and interesting but you definitely need transport.

We loved the easy access to our room with 3 dogs and a massive walk in shower gave us that extra space. We loved the clean towels and also how special you made it for our dogs, extra doggie towels and blankets and chewies for all 3 :)))
We loved tea and coffee, chocs and biscuits and shampoos etc
We loved the restaurant options and easy access for the dogs plus being able to sit outside and enjoy beachfront views or inside sea views - awesome!!
Extra special to take the dogs out for beach walks although sad about one of the Canadian geese, and too many dead seagulls on the shore but overall beautiful seaside adventure. We travelled down as far as Saddler and got to tour with best mate Jane.
Enjoy the peace, quiet, clean natural lifestyle while you can and it becomes another tourist overcrowded beach.

An amazing set up.
An amazing set up. A good sized, well equipped, spotless en-suite room with a separate communal lounge/kitchen. Breakfast is in the welcoming cafe next door, run by the owners of the accommodation. There's also a gift shop and small garden centre. On an evening we were welcome to relax in the large conservatory/glasshouse. The staff were the best team we've come across this year. We wished we were staying longer.

Wonderful property.
Wonderful property. Comfortable and spotless with all the facilities you will need for a self catering holiday. The views are to die for and it is very dog friendly.
Location is great for exploring Kintyre and the islands.
The host is lovely, very friendly and helpful.

Clachan is situated on the main road to Campbelltown ie 50 mins.
Close to ferry links to Gigha & Islay.
Clachan is quiet, small hamlet with Petrol station.

Tarbert was a location I needed to visit for my book project. I had been here before. It is close to Saddell Abbey and Skipness Castle and the Tarbert Castle in town is worth the climb. Tarbert's history is also iinteresting.
