We stayed at the Greyound their sister pub, as the Alfred Wallace had problems with a leak. We received excellent communication and service and money off our evening meal. Stunning property to relax and unwind, there were special touches such as welsh cakes and your name welcoming you to breakfast. Great staff, friendly and helpful

It was a delight to stay at The Angel! From the moment we arrived we were looked after so well by all the fabulous staff at all times of day and night. I can’t thank the kind man who helped us out in the courtyard at three o’clock in the morning and brought delicious tea and a cappuccino covered in salted caramel chocolate! Every part of the hotel is a magical blend of glorious architecture that has been there for hundreds of years and modern luxury. My room was the best! I wish I could have brought it home. With the exceptional en-suite. My bed was so comfortable and the bed linen was perfect! Every need was catered for to ensure the most delightful stay. The Angel Hotel is in the heart of Abergavenny, allowing such easy access to anywhere in the town. It was the best holiday in a place that I love. Staying in the Hotel made absolutely perfect.

Newport is very small city. We searched a lot & at last we found this hotel. We visited other hotel. I am not going to say name of those but we were disappointed & cancelled the booking on spot. This hotel is clean, secure & in the centre of city. The hotel has small gym which is accessible to all upto 10 pm. They have a good restaurant at level 3 which is partly inside n parley at terrace. One can enjoy the view of the city. It’s very secure , comfortable. The cleaning staff is commendable. They teach to room sharp at 10 am for cleaning of room on daily basis. They are very quick & professional. All their staff respond to any query or for any assistance they are readily available which is commendable. I don’t think so any one can find such good hotel in new port city

We chose a fully equipped apartment because we are athletes, so we never eat in unfamiliar places before the competition. It's a fully equipped, comfortable apartment, 5 minutes from the train station, with double windows so there was no noise.

The purpose of our visit was to see a show at the Borough Theatre. Hence we only stayed one night. We live in Bristol so Abergavenny is not far. However we decided to stay over and have a meal rather than driving back after the show. The Theatre was good and we would visit again. We had dinner at the Anatolian restaurant which was excellent. I know Turkish food and it was good. We would consider visiting again and staying over to do some walking or seeing the sites.

I wish your nighttime staff had more awareness of the vulnerability of their lone female guests, It was clearly missing on my visit. I am 77 and travelling alone. I would have hoped staff would have looked out for my safety - on this occasion I felt they did not. I doubt you will do anything to help the issue but it would be nice if you did, Next time I might find a proper hotel with stafff that care,

it's a real town, not just a beautiful tourist magnet. we stayed downtown in old lodge above pub-loved how quirky it was. we rested and regrouped in monmouth. took walk in the fields across the river and around town. i enjoyed the bookstores and thrift stores. i was really impressed with the green walls of the public restrooms by the historic bridge which had gorgeous flowers which inspired me to paint.
