IrelandAbsolute gem of a farm. From initial booking to leaving Zia was helpful and so incredibly kind. The farm is amazing. My children enjoyed their time here so much and didn’t want to leave! They made friends with a girl here too and they would feed the animals together. An amazing end to our holiday in England and Wales and we are already planning our return. The bed is so comfortable and huge!!! The pictures don’t do this place justice, it’s looks great but it will exceed all expectations. Maisie and Bob will happily come over to you and my son loved this, I caught him having a chat with Bob as we were in the garden! Zia works hard to keep this place as special as it is and her passion shows. We truly loved our stay here, the woolly walk with the donkeys, and dinner with the alpaca girls won’t be beaten any time soon!

Perfect for us visiting relatives but not too sure about access to attractions. Location exactly as pre-warned regarding narrow lanes in very bad condition - but not insurmountable.

I had a lovely stay at the Oakenholt Farm, was warmly welcomed as a coastal walker, very friendly hosts, interested in their guests and their needs.
Great fresh made Welsh breakfast with fresh fruit, joghurt, juice etc. On top!

A little country village just outside Chester.
A little country village just outside Chester. Nice pub , The Yacht and also another which we didnt try but looked alright.
Staying in a self contained unit we had to get food etc and found this easy as the village has good resources, both supermarket and takeaways.

The hotel wasn’t really suited to me with my disabilities. It would be better for younger and fitter people. It was a long walk to the accommodation section of the building having to walk past other amenities to get there. My request for a ground floor room wasn’t received by reception so I had problems walking to the room. Cleanliness was shoddy in places with stains on the carpet in the conservatory, and a cracked wash basin in the room. I’m sure younger fitter travellers would appreciate a stay here more than the older generation.

The caravan was in a beautiful location and was cosy and clean inside, however it lacked some basics that you'd expect to be supplied (more than one toilet roll, towels for showering, hand soap in the bathroom, washing up liquid in the kitchen).

Great views over towards the Wirral from the restaurant terrace. Our rooms were at the back, quiet (except for sounds from rooms overhead) with views of sheep in field. I would have liked some bottled water in the room. Convenient location for visiting family in Mold and touring the area. I would have like to stay longer to try the spa/gym. Our one meal at the restaurant in the evening was great and we liked the wine room - being able to look at the bottles to choose what we were going to have. Good vegan option too. Breakfast was a buffet - very average, fairly standard items available, bacon not great,. We really appreciated being able to ask for poached eggs - cooked to order and perfect. Overall very happy with our stay (a long weekend) - we would return.

Holywell is a great place to stay, perfectly located within a 10-minute drive of the beautiful Talacre Beach on the Flintshire coast and just off the A55, making it easy to connect to the classic seaside resorts along the North Wales coast.
In Holywell itself, you’ll find everything you need — welcoming pubs, handy shops, and cosy cafés. Just a short walk away lies the stunning Greenfield Valley Heritage Park, a real gem for dog walkers and nature lovers, which leads you to one of the Seven Wonders of Wales, the historic St Winifred’s Well.

It was easy to find but not near public transport.
It was easy to find but not near public transport. We drove to the nearest railway station at Flint where there was free parking near the lifeboat station and used the train to travel along the coast.

Not much in Talacre but lots around the area.
Not much in Talacre but lots around the area. It's a good base to stay in, has an amazing beach and lots of good walks. The lighthouse is amazing, Prestatyn just 5 mins away has good places to eat and drink and also a great beach. You have the well to visit, Dyserth waterfall and lots of castles

The local pub The White Horse is great and just a short stagger away. Lovely home cooked food with a bit of a twist. Cilcain is small but has a lovely community shop staffed by volunteers from around the village. Nothing is too much trouble and the people living in Cilcain are so friendly. It's walking country so be prepared for that. We loved it here myself and my wife with our daughter and son-in-law stayed for a family wedding a few miles away. It felt more like a holiday. Great.

Flint is a nice town with lots of amenities and a great gateway to North Wales. I would recommend this location as not too far from the M56 and M6 motorways. I travelled by motorcycle and the roads have good connections too. The Yacht pub has a welcoming atmosphere with great music, large TV screens, a pool table and a dart board. The Jet Garage incorporating a Spa service is good and for obviously more choice and cheaper food items then Aldi is just down the road a little further. Very good if you need to stock up with supplies. I was a solo traveller on a motorcycle but car drivers will also enjoy the same experiences.

Nice atmosphere to Yr Wyddgrug, folks seemed pleasant. Couple of surprise historic locations, with excellent info boards dotted around. Nice restaurants, didn't get chance to look around the shops.
