A mix of Golfers and college kids under 23 years of age.

A mix of Golfers and college kids under 23 years of age. Lots of history between the college grounds, where the old English government used to be, and the creation of Golf. Plenty of places to eat and drink, more than enough that I felt like I barely scratched the surface. Three Michelin-starred restaurants in the city, with easy to get around transportation in and out of the city. Wednesday nights and Thursday are the most popular evenings for the college kids to go out, so it can be rather busy, and the drinking age is only 18, so expect to see some craziness, but still tame overall. I didn't see one Police Officer during my entire stay, which tells me it's a rather safe place.

Dunfermline Abbey - resting place of Robert the Bruce is well worth a visit. So is the Carnegie museum - birthplace of Andrew Carnegie, once the world's richest man, and a champion of philanthropy and world peace. Pittencrieff park is lovely for a walk on a misty morning. It's a lovely place to stay.

Unfortunately Kirkcaldy is like many UK towns in that the main shopping street is a bit dilapidated with many empty shops. The town as a whole has many attractions from museums to recreational facilities and is still well worth a visit. It is also a good area to stay in as central for a Fife visit.

Fife is a beautiful part of Scotland.

Fife is a beautiful part of Scotland. It has a huge variety of different attractions to visit. Unfortunately, we were only visiting Glenrothes for a swimming competition this time but, we’ll be back soon to enjoy countryside, cuisine and magnificent beauty of “The Kingdom”.

Room very comfortable and facilities of high standard. The staff were extremely helpful. View of bridge made our stay but traffic noise was constant and may be a problem for light sleepers. The bedroom was far too bright at night. Light under desk and also by the door(probably fire escape regulations and not hotels fault).

Leven is on the train line now, about an hour from Edinburgh. It's a bit of a one-horse town with only 1 restaurant open after 8pm, apart from a 60s style steak-house. If you're vegetarian, vegan, or lactose intolerant you're going to have problems eating in the evening.
