FAQs about hotels in England
The Small Country with Big Appeal
For a relatively small country, England certainly manages to pack in a wealth of tourist attractions, from Land’s End all the way to Berwick-upon-Tweed.
Words can’t do justice to the capital London - an exciting mix of famous sights, royalty and vibrant life. Manchester, Liverpool and Birmingham are fabulous cities that have emerged from their industrial past to be cutting-edge centres of culture.
Newcastle, Leeds and Bristol are well known for their buzzy music scene, while sedate Oxford and Cambridge are famous for their universities and punting. Stately York still maintains its city walls and Windsor has the wonderful castle where the Queen often resides.
Sheffield and Derby border the magnificent Peak District, while the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales are close to Blackpool, one of England’s favourite beach destinations. Other very popular beaches are in Brighton, Eastbourne, Torquay and Scarborough.
With a beautifully rugged coastline, mystical Cornwall has England hotels in the country, as do the Cotswolds where stone houses line picturesque villages. The Georgian spa cities of Bath and Harrogate also have impressive stone architecture.
This is just the tip of the iceberg of what England has to offer, but wherever you visit, you can be sure that Booking.com has a fantastic range of apartments, B&Bs and hotels in England to choose from.

Our second stay in London began with the tube strike.
Our second stay in London began with the tube strike. Traffic was horrendous and became very expensive going only a few miles in a cab. London is a beautiful city and I am glad I stayed and saw so many of the sights it offers - Tower of London and a boat cruise on the Thames were favorites with our group. Buckingham Palace, I found very disappointing. The rooms are dowdy and with the construction of some rooms inconvenient. I am glad I visited but I would recommend going to Windsor Castle. Totally amazing. The architecture is fabulous all over London. It's not convenient in many buildings for older individuals with mobility issues. Ramps and other handicap facilities are needed, more lifts and escalators. Prepare to walk. Invest in comfortable walking shoes!Guest review byCarolUnited States - 10.0

I did the Beatles tour, and the Liverpool wheel. I visited some recent veggie cafes too, the Egg cafe and the Vibe. I would of liked to of gone to more markets , the vintage market but didn't have time. I probably could've staged two nights instead of one.Guest review byS - 4.0

We use to visit Blackpool when our children were young, myself and my son decided to go back and relive some memories. Wow what has happened the council need to start generateing funds into the place. Help get those buildings and guest houses sorted. We were so shocked really disappointing not half the place it used to be . What is the point if a multi-storey car park parking didn’t seem to an issue it’s all the run down buildings real shame .Guest review byOatesUnited Kingdom - 8.0

I was pleasantly surprised with the city, clean and friendly. Be aware that the restaurants stop serving food earlier than other places I have been too, unless surviving on fast food is an option for you. A lot to see and do. The train station is quite difficult to navigate to begin with,Guest review byIAIN ON THE ROAD.United Kingdom - 10.0

We attended the theatre, a ten minute walk. Had Tapas across from the theatre prior to the performance..We toured the central area and quay areas on foot. The buffet breakfast was ideal for us and in a very quiet and peaceful setting. There were people around to help you to a seat and so the dining room didn't seem too overcrowded. The staff greeted us and that made a difference to our experience for breakfast!! The room was better than expected and we took a walk in the evening despite it being on a busy road. The reception staff helped with information about the shuttle bus to our terminal and it all worked well. We ate in the evening at the pub down the road which was very busy but good value food.Guest review byElaineUnited Kingdom - 8.0
The 'Great Western' ship (built by Brunel) was interesting).
The 'Great Western' ship (built by Brunel) was interesting). The 'Concorde Museum' was great! The last Concorde that flew.! I went over to the coast to Portishead and was amazed by the 10 meter tidal range. See the locks operate when the sailboats go in or out of the yacht basin.(In the Florida Keys we only have about 1 foot tide range!)Guest review byRobertUnited States - 8.0
the location, price, breakfast was good.
the location, price, breakfast was good. Let down by the parking fee @ £20, room small, toiletries very cheap, used my own. Went for a funeral so didn't look around, but went to the city center for food as more choice for Gluten Free.Guest review bySuzieUnited Kingdom
