We were very impressed with the Holiday Inn. The train station was across the road and you can take the hotel lift down to LG which brings you out at the tram station. The staff were very friendly and our room had a great view of the Tower. Everything was in walking distance. Would highly rcommend.

We really enjoyed the location, the warm atmosphere of the hotel when you step trough the front door, the warm welcome by staff and the exceptionally clean rooms. We pre-booked our tabel at the restaurant in the hotel online. We really loved the menu and we enjoyed well excecuted and delicious dinners. I recommend that you have the lamb shank and mash. FAQs about hotels in England

The Small Country with Big Appeal

For a relatively small country, England certainly manages to pack in a wealth of tourist attractions, from Land’s End all the way to Berwick-upon-Tweed.

Words can’t do justice to the capital London - an exciting mix of famous sights, royalty and vibrant life. Manchester, Liverpool and Birmingham are fabulous cities that have emerged from their industrial past to be cutting-edge centres of culture.

Newcastle, Leeds and Bristol are well known for their buzzy music scene, while sedate Oxford and Cambridge are famous for their universities and punting. Stately York still maintains its city walls and Windsor has the wonderful castle where the Queen often resides.

Sheffield and Derby border the magnificent Peak District, while the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales are close to Blackpool, one of England’s favourite beach destinations. Other very popular beaches are in Brighton, Eastbourne, Torquay and Scarborough.

With a beautifully rugged coastline, mystical Cornwall has England hotels in the country, as do the Cotswolds where stone houses line picturesque villages. The Georgian spa cities of Bath and Harrogate also have impressive stone architecture.

This is just the tip of the iceberg of what England has to offer, but wherever you visit, you can be sure that Booking.com has a fantastic range of apartments, B&Bs and hotels in England to choose from.

Loved London.

Loved London. Don't be afraid of using the Tube to get around. Cheap and convenient for almost everything. It feels safer than the subway in NYC in my opinion. Bentley's was a wonderful seafood restaurant. Don't be afraid of ordering a full English breakfast: it is a great way to start the day. For returning to the airport, use the Elizabeth line. Ole and Steen has the best cinnamon rolls in the world

Liverpool is my home city.

Liverpool is my home city. We moved away some years ago so this trip was to meet up with friends and family. Liverpool is a wonderful place, great public transport, a great shopping centre and plenty of places to find good meals. Liverpool is a very green city with lots of public parks, one of the best is Calderstones Park in the Mossley Hill area. A great place for a city break, you won't be disappointed!

It was very busy on Saturday afternoon, there was a gig at the arena, I suggest booking for food or go early. Some parts of Brindley place seemed very low lit, outside Picolino for example. We ate at the Cosy Club, the food and staff was good, drank at Botanist, bar staff were good, nice cocktails, but it was fully booked for food and drinks.

I am very impressed with Newcastle and the new architecture and urbanisation, it’s been just under 20 years since my last visit. I definitely won’t leave it that long again, I’ll definitely be going early next year. I met some great people in some great real ale bars in Gateshead and Newcastle and have taken around 900 photos from my travels to Whitley Bay, Tynemouth on the Metro train.

York is a nice city to visit. Attractive period shops. Good mix of chains and independent. Some high end retailers have stores here. Vast choice of cafes, pubs and restaurants Steets are very busy on the weekends. The cathedral is the main attraction and is worth a visit but be prepared to pay for entry. I have visited the city twice and both times it was flooded because of torrential rain but that’s just bad luck

Bristol is a busy city, all going on, universities, theatres, restaurants, bars, clubs etc. Easy access from M5, Clifton is of particular interest to me for it's village feel! These days could not last as long as I would like, age thing. Busy city and only criticism, council with all their controls and regulations appear to want to make it as hard as possible to go there.

The hotel was good with nice touch’s such as coffee on demand and nice room. The major downside is despite paying in advance via booking .com the reception took a swipe of card and charged again so have paid twice for same room I had queried this with reception who assured me it would not be charged but was and to date have seen no refund for second charge
