Fantastic facility, amazing idea for a hotel. I really appreciate such initiatives, taking care of history in a practical way. Staying in such a place will make you more interested in its history, here you can really feel it, your imagination works. I recommend it as an experience.

Our stay in this lovely guesthouse was superb! The location indeed was one of the best, near the beach as well as the town. The view was stunning! The rooms are all clean and well maintained. The breakfast was delicious! I have for a room upgrade and they accomodated us throughout. We'll definitely come back. Thanks to Margaret, her husband and the lovely Natalia 🙂

FAQs about hotels in Cornwall

The Stuff of Legends

Inhabited since prehistory, Cornwall is characterised by a series by rocky bays, fishing villages and spectacular coastline. Right at England’s western tip is Land’s End where sheer cliffs descend into the Atlantic Ocean. Along the coast is popular St Ives, home to many Cornwall hotels by the sea on Booking.com.

Another fantastic beach resort is Penzance, while across the bay is St Michael’s Mount (not to be confused with similar Mont St-Michel in Normandy). Also boasting a wonderful beach is Newquay, though it is best known for its excellent surfing conditions.

Further north is Tintagel, the stuff of legends due to its association with King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table. The remains of Tintagel Castle are perched dramatically on a rocky promontory, while inland on Bodmin Moor granite tors and stone monoliths only add to Cornwall’s feeling of mystery.

Heading north towards Bude the Cornwall beaches become longer, while on the southern coast Looe is a picturesque town curving around an inlet. To the east near St Austell is the Eden Project, huge domes housing thousands of plants from all over the world.

The county town of Cornwall is Truro, home to an impressive cathedral overlooking the River Fal which flows down to Falmouth Bay, a great spot to try some local Cornish ice cream.

The ambiance of the hotel is fantastic! It's a boutique hotel, stylish, colourful, and pleasant to stay at for any reason: in the room, in the bar, restaurant, spa, lobby, and, of course, a lovely terrace with a picturesque ocean view. Spacious bathroom, comfortable bed, ocean view. The sandy Porthminster Beach is just a 5-minute walk. Breakfast includes everything you need; you can also order eggs in addition to the buffet. I had a fantastic time at the spa, which features a pool, two saunas, and a jacuzzi. I also had a great massage. The hotel is just a 5-minute walk from the town center, offering a variety of shops, bars, and restaurants. They have a car park, which is good regarding the lack of parking spaces in town.

As the Americans say, “what’s not to like?”. I was fortunate enough to stay in The Forte Suite, with floor space larger than my little cottage near Sydney! Sooo comfortable. Loved the ambience, the food, that setting. A special shout-out to our waiter at lunch and dinner, Ricardo, and the restaurant manager ( sadly I don’t know her name) consummate professionals both. Coming from Australia, where pet-friendly places are slowly appearing, what a joy for me to see them welcomed on the terrace and some rooms. My friend and dog stayed in the Garden Room. Wonderful decor and immense outdoor space. If you are planning a visit, don’t hesitate. You will not be disappointed. Thank you, Tresanton.

The location and the view from the room was extraordinary. We had the seaview during a big storm. It was nothing short of spectacular. St Ives has relaxed, artistic vibe. The locals were friendly and there are great independent shops restaurants. The beach and harbour are fantastic and a great spot to explore the countryside and Penzance and Lands End. Driving in St Ives is an experience- and you have to be brave on the roads off the main highways - very narrow and hilly!! The beach is great for windsurfing and there is a school on the beach. We had Fish and Chips from The Balancing Eel, where the service was excellent and the Fish and Chips wonderful.

We especially like Padstow out of season as it is much easier to get around and enjoy the wide range of restaurants, pubs and bars in the evening. The working harbour with its lock gate is always interesting to walk aroung, have a pasty or coffee and cake. Many of the pubs such as The Old Custom House and The Harbour Inn have live music and open mike nights at the weekend with great atmosphere.

I visited in the winter so I didn't go to the beach.

I visited in the winter so I didn't go to the beach. Bude is not really a shopping metropolis, it has a diverse selection of independent shops, ranging from boutiques to galleries. The town centre is relatively small and easy to walk around with a range of independent shops, and cafes where you can watch the world go by. Favourites include Spencer Thorn for books and toys, Bellini’s Deli Kitchen on Queen Street for Cornish food produce, and Zuma Jay for surf/wetsuit hire and all things related. There are many other shops to explore for quality unusual gift items, such as The Jaunty Seagull which sells handmade creative items from across Cornwall. Bude’s Refill Shop sells foodstuffs, pampering gifts, chocolate and candles. George & Mills offers curated homeware brands from its stylish store. Its in-house coffee and juice bar serves Yallah coffee, cold-pressed juices, fresh smoothies, and delicious matcha to refuel from all that retail therapy.

Tintagel is a magical place to visit.

Tintagel is a magical place to visit. Lots of little shops and places to eat. We enjoyed having a coffee at the Camelot Castle Hotel with beautiful views of the sea and the moors. Also King Arthur’s Castle can be seen and people walking over the bridge to it. We would like to have walked over the bridge but we were advised that the walk is long and steep and not suitable for unsteady walkers.

Used to come to Looe back in the 80,s,its changed a bit but not too much. Loved coming back and exploring. The only thing I didn't like is the steep roads and paths, my knees aren't as good as they were 45 years ago. Had fish n chips down by the fish market and sat on a bench over looking the estuary whilst we ate them. Walked around east Looe and then went to the beach. Had a couple of drinks in the pubs this side. Bought a few souvenirs too, there are plenty of shops for this . Love Looe shall definately come back. If your into boats there are plenty of trips around the coast. The monkey sanctuary is nearby and a great visit for the day. The walk along the cliff path is a must too. There's an amusement arcade if that's your liking too. Plus local buses can take you to further afield places. Only one down side, having to use debit card for the toilet no option to use cash which was a fluster as I was in dire need at the time.
