The hotel is right in the middle of the high street, there are plenty off shops, coffee shops and a great Indian It is that bit more expensive and as it was my birthday It was a lovely treat. There are other eating places, as well as the hotel, though I didn't stay long enough to try their food, The full breakfast was amazing, plenty off other food choices. The bedroom was large and the bed was comfortable, also had tea & coffee facilities. The bathroom iwould say served its purpose, could do with an upgrade, the shower was fine, but im nit picking. Would highly recommend a stay here. The x62 takes you to Edinburgh, takes about an hr, traffic pending. There is also a theatre in Peebles called, Eastgate worth checking out what's on before you arrive. There are Several walks easy and hard and fishing if you enjoy. I like Peebles as I am not a walker, the high street is flat, so suitable for people with walking difficulties, and wheelchairs. Also has a few second hand shops, you might find a bargain. Christmas lights go on sat 29th Nov, highly recommend, you can also take your dog

A lovely old high street with interesting shoppies. Easy to walk around-the Abbey looked wonderful decorated with hand crafted poppies. Everyone we met was so friendly and welcoming. Highly recommended and that’s without the many places of interest on its doorstep.

Melrose is a hidden gem in many ways, and this part of the country is often overlooked although it is very beautiful indeed. The town itself has plenty to offer, including a choice of restaurants and tourist attractions. A walk to the top of the Eildon Hill is a must if you are able.

A lovely quiet town with friendly bars and good places to eat. A great base to explore the local area, which is full of interesting locations. Something for everyone, whether you're looking to enjoy a local stroll and coffee, or get out in the Scottish environments. Lovely walks to be enjoyed in the nearby forests.

Duns is well positioned in the middle of rural Berwickshire, not far from the sea, the hills ( Lammermuirs and Cheviots ) and many well known beauty spots, Abbeys and places of interest. It houses the Jim Clark Museum. He, along with Duns Scotus have put Duns on the map.

Selkirk is not particularly special but it is perfectly located to visit a myriad of interesting places, the most special being the Tapestry of Scotland in Galashiels. A must see, in my view even better than the Bayeux Tapestry. Melrose, Floors Castle, Peebles and many beautiful gardens are all nearby. Easy access to Edinburgh by road or train. 90 minutes to the wonderful Dumfries House.
