GermanyThis hotel was a nice surprise. When we arrived, we discovered that it was under reconstruction, but a room was ready for us and no noises disturbed us during the stay. In the room, we were happy to discover a brand-new shining shower and other newly installed equipment. A british-style 2-tub sink was a bit of surprise, but it did not bother us. The room was fine and big enough, the bed was comfortable, and all was nice. All was very clean.
The stuff was super-friendly, especially the hotel owner was nice to us. And the breakfast!! It was superb! I’d stay there again for the breakfast alone.
All in all, it’s an extremely nice place with excellent breakfast, very well suited for and warm-welcoming cycling or hiking travellers. It’s a real gem on the road!
Maybe the only thing that we'd recommend to add would be a door or at least a curtain separating the toilet from the room. Even though there is sort of a wall, it feels... unusual. Probably it's in the reconstruction plans...

United KingdomI spent one night in this delightful small hotel. It was a convenient stopover but I would certainly return. There used to be hundreds of simple, family run hotels like this across France but few remain, replaced by soulless chains. The Hotel du Mouton Blanc has only 5 rooms, but they are individual, with character. There are tea/coffee making facilities and even a communal microwave. The patronne was helpful and my breakfast, like the hotel, was good value.

A stunning rural location with views across the valley. Our host Michael was extremely welcoming, and cooked an excellent dinner for us using local produce. Breakfast was also delicious served on a terrace overlooking the valley.
There is a log burner in the room to keep warm in the evening and the space was comfy and well equipped.
A great choice if you're looking for a quiet relaxing stay with character and charm.

The Hotel was a great location for my needs. The room was spacious, clean and well equipped. The staff were friendly and helpful. Parking was plentiful, with good access to amenities. The breakfast was good, and the dining room bright and airy.

We are two older Australians who had been on the road over...
We are two older Australians who had been on the road over four weeks. We stayed in Vesoul three nights. We had one of the best meals ever at Le Caveau du Grand Puits. We enjoyed walking in the older area, walked up to a very high point called La Motte and relaxed in the English Gardens. We both needed haircuts and walked in to a hairdresser, Figaro des Ursulines and came out feeling very refreshed. We made a day trip to Besançon, and also close by were Belfort, Gy and Gray. We stopped at these on the way. For us, Vesoul was a friendly place, a place to relax and use our limited French effectively. For more energetic people, there are a large number of cycling tracks to enjoy and there is delightful scenery everywhere. No it is not a famed tourist spot but yes there is a lot to enjoy in Vesoul.

Really lovely small town.
Really lovely small town. We stayed for three days and really enjoyed it. It is a very quiet town with plenty to offer. Thermal pool, restaurants, cafes, abbey and museums. We also enjoyed easy hiking around the town.

Stunning site, we arrived after the exterior renovation was finished but half the interior was inaccessible due to scaffolding but the whole site and information centre was very good. We stayed at the Rhein hotel which was convenient and has good food, facilities and staff

We know Gray very well because we have relatives there.
We know Gray very well because we have relatives there. It is a lovely provincial town on the beautiful River Saône: 'la France profonde'. As a consequence, if we drive down from England to Provence we find it an ideal distance to stop and relax. (We arrived in Calais at around midday and arrived in Gray in time for a French hotel dinner.) Normally we would stay with our family, but on this occasion there was no space, so we chose the Château de Rigny, a very please two-and-a-half kilometre drive along, and situated on, the Saône, which was about half as expensive again as the other place at which we have stayed on more than one occasion: the 'Au Mastroquet'. The latter has the advantage of being in the town, but the former certainly has a discreet touch of class.
I yet again find myself recording how annoying I find Booking.com's patronising exhortations to write this 'review'. Currently I'm being told "Cue the confetti!"; non, merci.

Sorry some real extensive modernisation work to bathroom and toilet has to be done,. And if you advertise that it sleeps 5-6 people, make sure the bed linnens are there....

Just big enough to provide you with local services even on Assumption day/public holidays. We used Le Fran Brassur brassiere and were very happy with the quality ( home brew beer) local produce and it was reasonably priced. Was that it was closer to home I’d go back!

If you prefer a basic tasteless breakfast then this is you're place!Always the same pre-packed pan-cakes/cake/bread. There was only some cheap meat and no cheese. No muesli or healty food.
