- From US$106.95 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.4Superb - What previous guests thought, 139 reviewsWe loved the fact that there was a swimming pool, it was a real bonus as it was during a heatwave. Our room, the "unusual" was amazing, so comfortable, it was located above the communal kitchen are, but was quiet at night. Don't be put off by the fact that this room has a water bed, it was really comfortable, and the air-conditioning was a huge bonus. The hosts were very generous with a whole selection of bits for you to use, the wide variety of hot drinks was a real benefit, and the honesty fridge was well priced and very useful. The location was stunning, and the breakfasts were delicious, one of the nicest we had had. For us everything was perfect, we would definitely go back and stay in the same room again, it was a wonderful stay. Regine was very helpful, especially as we have only just started learning French less than a month ago. On our travels, Google Translate is always our friend for those situations where we need a little help.Guest review byColinUnited Kingdom
- From US$425.69 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.2Very good - What previous guests thought, 180 reviewsWhere do I begin? From the moment we arrived to the aperitives in a selection of beautiful rooms, being swept up from there to enjoy world class dinners in the dining room, stroll in beautiful romantic gardens, farewell bakes we received from the kitchen and well wishes, the service was attentive, polite, just exceptional! The attention to detail in recommendations and planning our stay is also much much more, at a standard well beyond the ordinary. We were blown away by all the wonderful people at the chateau, we become quite fond of them. It really has a special place in our memory now, especially celebrating our wedding anniversary. The 17th century property is exquisite, absolutely beautiful, glamorous, original, it was a dream to spend 4 nights at the Chateau on a large beautiful property, transported to another place.Guest review byJGAustralia
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 7.7Good - What previous guests thought, 72 reviewsThe location is beautiful right on a gorgeous lake absolutely full to the brim with wildlife such as swans, ducks, heron, beavers, and more. The water park is awesome with fun slides for different ages, wave machine, lazy river, rapid river, and a play area with slides and another for very little children. The kids loved it in there. They also loved the indoor golf, the Jeep safari and the Pony rides. There were a few outdoor play structures and the beach is also very nice. The food at the restaurants was good but we ate at the lodge more often for convenience and frankly greater choice from home cooking.Guest review byWarrenUnited Kingdom

SQ is a nice little town with some quirky touches.
SQ is a nice little town with some quirky touches. There was a beer festival in the main square when we were there, and this part of town has a reasonably lively feel. We walked down to the river and there are some good bars and restaurants a bit further along. The Cathedral is a classic Gothic structure and has some interesting architectural details.Guest review byDavidUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Our visit was a Saturday in August, the main streets were decorated with balloons and umbrellas, the pavements were full of restaurants/cafes tables and chairs, very festive. A bonus was the use of old fashioned wooden games with instructions, unfortunately only in French. The cathedral was a disappointment, very large, very beautiful, half empty and all information posters in French only, could do better!Guest review byjohnnydgoodeUnited Kingdom - 10.0

We choose chateau thierry based on its commutable location to reims and Paris. It was perfect for both. 3 hours from calais. 1 hr 3 to chelles gournay (then train/metro to paris) 38 mins to reims. As a big family we found eating out tricky In chateau thierry not many places appeared to want us there or simple couldn't hold us. But Le 95 was a perfect little gem with the best most helpful staff we've ever encountered. Free parking car park massive bonus. We tried the local bakeries. All very good, doughnut shop absokutly wonderful! Supermarket well stocked. We also tried the carrefour interspersed and soft play all as to be expected.Guest review byHayleyUnited Kingdom - 8.0

A lovely little town, effectively part of Chateau Thierry where there are plenty of shops, restaurants, historical stuff (castle and WW1 monument). Access to several Champagne caves - one is really based around a cave, amazing! Safe to walk, there appear to be plenty of buses, but given the heat some sites (the US WW1 memorial) need a car for most people to get thereGuest review byTimUnited Kingdom - 8.0

It is a perfect place to play in the near by golf. The lake is beautiful and it worth the chance for a relaxing stay. The property is welcoming and positive. However it could enjoy a better maintenance.Guest review byHeiHeiUkUnited Kingdom - 8.0

We were only there for one night but the buildings are really pretty, a nice town square, catherdral and looks to be a fair few restaurants. Being near Calais most of the people we spoke to in shops / restaurants spoke English if that is a consideration.Guest review byMarie-ClaireUnited Kingdom - 10.0

I've stayed here at least twice now. Friendly staff, accommodating. Adequate facilities. Breakfast is typical French, although they do now include boil-your-own eggs. €6 beer at the bar seemed a little expensive.Guest review byToddGermany - 8.0

Nice budget hotel, rooms are clean and adequate for one or two nights stay, there are no frills, restaurant or bar with this hotel, but given there is a sports bars close by La Kavern and a very good restaurant, Restaurant Crocodile within walking distance, I would use this hotel again.Guest review bydmullins9United Kingdom - 10.0
The town has history dating back thousands of years and is...
The town has history dating back thousands of years and is documented from the time of the Romans; the character of the town is enhanced from its elevated position, with the walled perimeter, dense buildings, and cathedral, standing tall in otherwise flat countryside. There's a real sense of arrival as you climb up to your final destination. We've visited three times, twice in winter as a long drive stopover, and once in the summer. The cobbled streets, old buildings, cafes, shops, bars, restaurants, and sites are varied and interesting. It's a place that's full of character and well worth a visit for a day or two, maybe longer. We particularly like staying in the Hôtel de la Bannière de France in the heart of the old centre, assuming we have some time to appreciate the visit. There are other cheaper options in the lower town for travellers who just want a rapid overnight pit stop.Guest review byTobyUnited Kingdom
