Seville Province highlights

Sunset drinks on Paseo Colón

Overlooking the River Guadalquivir, the bars along Paseo Colón throng with locals soaking up the buzzing atmosphere as the sun goes down.

Exploring the Barrio de Santa Cruz district

Despite its popularity, this medieval Jewish neighbourhood still has plenty of narrow streets where you can slip away from the crowds.

Tapas in Triana

Some Triana locals boast of never having visited Seville: join them here, far from the tourist trail, to sample authentic Andalusian tapas.

Sierra del Norte de Sevilla Nature Reserve

Home to 10 picturesque villages, this nature reserve’s magnificent forests and mountains draw city dwellers looking to cycle and hike.

Semana Santa

For a true sensory overload, don’t miss the hordes of robed penitents marching statues through the streets in Seville’s annual Easter parades.

Carmona

Right from the first glimpse of its 15th-century tower, Carmona's mishmash of Roman, Moorish and Gothic architecture is utterly entrancing.

Itálica Ciudad Romana

Legions once tramped the streets of this Roman city, dating back to 206 BC: discover its well-preserved amphitheatre, temples and thermal baths.

Ëcija

Nicknamed The Frying Pan of Andalusia for its searing summer temperatures, Ëcija’s treasures include the Alhambra-inspired Tomasas Palace. Add flamenco dancing and mouthwatering local cuisine and you've found authentic Spain.

Cycling the River Guadiamar

Running alongside the river once known as the River of Princes, this 70 km trail threads through verdant countryside and past medieval villages.

We ate in the restaurant and it was a lovely steak meal with wine. Well cooked and presented and at a reasonable price. The room was excellent, large, clean. One word of caution the hotel is split into 3 sections but uses the same numbers in each. We were trying to get into the right number but wrong section. Instructions need to be a little clearer. Would stay there again .

From the outside the hotel looked very modern and inside it was modern the suite we had had a huge balcony. Excellent facilities was very smart and well equipped. The breakfast was excellent and I must commend the breakfast man who was most helpful the evening meal in the restaurant opposite of the hotel was equally very good. We only stopped one night en route from Santander to Costa del Sol but would certainly stay again.

Stayed at the top of the old hill town but made full use of the more modern section at the foot of the hill. Great place to walk around at any time of the day with some stunning architecture. Some streets a really tight squeeze for driving but overall a delightful place. Convenient, too for trips into Seville by car or by train from Brenes.

It was 12 euros taxi into Seville Old Town Hotel was very large and a bit shabby on the outside but smart inside. The bar was very inefficiently run. One waiter was actually running up and down. Breakfast was good a good selection. It was set quite high up and had a main ring road running beside it so there was no chance of walking to or from this hotel.

We were only there for a couple of days and had minimal expectations as the purpose of my stay was not a holiday. However, Ecija had plenty of amenities, a shopping centre with plenty of variety and plenty of free parking. It appears to be a typical Spanish town with heavy roman influence in terms of architecture, statues, with some preserved 'ruins' in the main square. I wasn't there long enough to give a thorough review as I was not there as a tourist and was not there for long. But the experience was much more pleasant than expected and I have nothing negative to say about the place

The location of the hotel is well situated to the edge of the town. It is easy to leave the area and be into the countryside within minutes and not to far to reaching neighbouring towns and the beach. The town itself has a mixture of restaurants (be aware these do not serve food till 2100). There is a petrol station close by and an Aldi. The town is lovely and the people are really friendly. If you make an attempt to speak Spanish they will help despite English not being spoken as much outside of the cities. A lovely area and worth a visit

One of my favourite cities.Lots to do here, beyond the Alcazar and Cathedral Visit the Archives, have a cocktail at the Alfonso XIII, stroll along the riverfront, tour the Bullring and the Parque Maria Luisa (there's an Archaeological Museum there, as well as the Plaza de Espana). or just sit in a small cafe and watch the world go by. If you like action, visit during the April Fair; if you prefer quiet, come in the winter, when Lent dampens public celebrations - although you may bump into the unexpected religious procession.
