CanadaTown/Location in Town: The hotel is pretty much by itself in the country side. This was great for a quiet night and a wonderful sleep, but it is a fair drive to get to a town.
Area: See above. There is a very quiet road across the way that makes for a nice walk.
Hotel: The hotel was generally very good. For the price we were really impressed with the general feel and comfort.
Hosts/Staff: We couldn't have asked for nicer hosts. They were absolutely wonderful and went out of their way to make us feel very comfortable and to treat us well.
Noise at night: very quiet location.
Room: Bed was very comfortable, fairly basic room, but had everything we needed. The bathroom was clean and functional,
Breakfast: Breakfast was basic fare of toast and coffee.
Bike Storage: a covered room that was secure.
Restaurant for Dinner: the hotel had a restaurant that served very good food with high quality ingredients.
Extras: The hosts were simply delightful.

And the baths are wonderful. Worth each cent spent. Really loved. The external baths, hot pools, are excellent.
Staff was very nice. We would like to thank and post a compliment to the lady who assisted us at the internal bath. Very nice, lended us a swin cap.

We stayed in no. 33, a large 3 bedroom end of terrace house spread over 3 floors. The view from the 2nd and 3rd floor windows are spectacular, the rooms very comfortable and nicely furnished. Top floor is luxurious with 4 post super king bed, walk in wardrobe and a large modern en suite. We found the beds very comfortable. The house was super clean and they changed our bedding and towels after 4 days.
The complex is tasteful, clean and elegantly landscaped. The pool was warm and it was a treat to swim with such a spectacular view of the mountains. We often had the pool to ourselves.
Location was good for us and not too far from Potes and the places that we wanted to visit.
The staff were incredibly helpful, nothing was too much trouble.
The combination of this wonderful house, the Portsmouth to Bilboa ferry (we allegedly saw 500 dolphins) and the wildlife and wilderness of the Picos Mountains, this has been one of our favourite holidays. We loved our stay here.

Posada del Oso was a highlight of our trip to Cantábria. Of all the hotels and posadas we stayed, Posada del Oso was by far the best. The spot is beautiful with stunning views of the valley and mountains around. The room was spacious, decorated on wooden chalet style, the beds and linen were super comfortable, the bathroom stocked with everything you need including a little sponge to clean the shoes, a little touch that made the difference when I needed to clean my boots after the rain. The place is just stunning inside out and has a handy free parking onsite. You can easily reach Potes and other villages around.
The staff was friendly and gave us great tips to what to do, where to eat and things to see. The breakfast was another highlight of the stay with everything homemade, traditionally Spanish and super delicious. We truly enjoyed our stay and will come back for a longer stay when back to Cantábria.

The hotel decoration is delightful but subtle, it inspires peace and tranquility all throughout the facilities.
There were no noises during the night, and the bed was very comfortable.
Best european-type buffet breakfast in the area, happy to accommodate special needs.

We had secure parking for our motorcycles we had the use of the pool sauna and jacuzzi there was separate towels provided for the pool highly recommend a stay here

Charming town in the middle of the Picos with lots of shops, restaurants and cafes to choose from. We stayed there on a motorcycle tour and the roads are fantastic. The weather in early October was great for us, nice and warm and sunny. We loved it and will be returning.

Ojedo is a 20 minute walk from Potes.
Ojedo is a 20 minute walk from Potes. Potes has everything you need, Supermarkets, bars, shops restaurants. It is a beautiful place, but even in October it is full of tourists. Ojedo on other hand is nice and quiet thus the perfect place to escape back to.

Stunning area. We visited in early spring. Beautiful lush green of the hills and some trees, and snow capped mountains everywhere. Quiet and peaceful time to visit with little tourists around. Snow still falling up on the mountains at Fuente de. Highly recommend.
The drive up to Espinama is currently being repaired, but driving up through the valley alongside the river. Stunning.

If visiting Fuente De the cable car is a must (dependant on the weather).
We took the cable car up then walked all the way back down, approx. 14km. The views from the top and on the walk down are superb. There is a Hotel with a cafe after about 4km to get drinks and food. The walk is not too strenuous as it's mainly down hill although the last section back to Fuente De through the forest is a bit up and down. Overall a great walk, 9 out of 10.

Absolutely stunning scenery, close to Potes for convenience...
Absolutely stunning scenery, close to Potes for convenience if required but much more peaceful and unspoiled. Easy access to other routes and destinations in Picos de Europa, especially Fuente de.
Although there was little English spoken we had no problems eating out in small local restaurants and even buying cheese from a tiny queseria high up away from the main roads

Relaxing and a beautiful place to stay. Our accommodation was top notch and Christina our host was most accommodating. Great place to lose yourself in nature. Magnificent views all around, and the town Potes is not too far to pop in and get a few provisions. The N621 is a lovely winding road - would be wonderful for a bike trip. We will definitely be back

The Posada has wonderful views and does reasonably priced and decent quality food. Cahecho is a very quiet place in a stunning location. Don’t go if you are someone who needs lots of entertainment. Do go if you love peaceful natural surroundings and your own space.

Potes is a great base to explore the Picos de Europa.
Potes is a great base to explore the Picos de Europa. Good restaurants include the Mexican Las Mañantas, or for steak and cured meets Asador Llorente.
The two local supermarkets are well stocked but remember are closed on Sundays.

Ojedo was a surprising town, it was larger than expected and had lots of bars and restaurants, the town was very busy and very clean streets. The drive to the sky lift to teh peaks is only 30mins drive. This town is definately worth a stop off point for a few days.

A charming little town in an incredible national park. Apart from initially having trouble with parking, we were visiting outside peak tourist season, so not too difficult. There's only a few streets to explore in Espinama, which is all part of it's charm. Most are original/older buildings with a few newer ones, sympathetically built to complement the town. Enroute for the camino. Just lovely and we far preferred it to the large lodge up the road. We felt like we were staying in "Spain proper." We had an evening meal at Bar Máximo, on the main road. The artichokes for a started and peppers stuff with Hake. Excellent food, friendly and attentive staff. They helped make our one night stay there a special memory.
