Perfect place, good location fantastic breakfast. The only drawback being a rather big gap between the floor and the entrance door, letting cold air in (early March). The fancoil was good enough to heat up the room though. Will visit again in Autumn.

I had a fantastic stay at this hotel. The breakfast with freshly pressed orange juice was outstanding. The rooms were spacious, well-decorated, and had individual balconies. Everything was spotlessly clean, and the staff was incredibly nice. The option to rent a parking spot for 15 euros per night was very convenient, especially with the beach's popularity. Highly recommended for a great vacation experience.

FAQs about hotels in Catalonia

Resorts for All Seasons

From the heights of La Molina ski resort down to Mediterranean beaches, Catalonia is a fantastic Spanish region. Its capital Barcelona, Gaudì’s masterpiece, is home to most 5-star hotels in Catalonia on Booking.com.

Castelldefels has a long, sandy beach, and its neighbour Sitges has a seafront church overlooking its beach. Tarragona has remains of a Roman theatre and aqueduct, and is near the Costa Dorada’s PortAventura theme park. Salou has a wide, beachfront promenade, as does Cambrils which also has a marina.

The Costa Brava resorts of Calella and Platja d’Aro have long, sandy beaches, and between them are beautiful Blanes and lively Lloret de Mar. A castle guards Tossa de Mar bay and L’Estartit is at the foot of a triangular hill. Next to Empuriabrava’s large marina, Roses has a citadel and palm-lined promenade, and there is outlandish architecture in Figueres, Dalì’s birthplace. A whitewashed former home of his is in coastal Cadaqués.

By Andorra, La Seu d’Urgell houses several hotels in the Catalonian Pyrenées, and Vielha valley is surrounded by mountains, as is the lake at Puigcerdà near France. Olot has 4 volcanoes within it and Lleida is one of Catalonia’s oldest towns.

High-altitude Tortosa has a hilltop castle and impressive cathedral, and colourful, multi-shaped buildings line Girona’s riverfront, while partially intact city walls surround its old town.

Barcelona is a great city to visit!

Barcelona is a great city to visit! There are so many places to see and you don’t have to worry about where to eat or drink cause it has many restaurants, cafes and bars. The street is very clean and I like the convenience of the public transportation. It is much more better if you visit Barcelona on Saturday if you want to experience the bustling of the city. The people are friendly although they don’t talk much;)) I visit Barcelona during november but the weather is cool, not too hot or cold and less tourists.

Beautiful, well kept, clean and tidy.

Beautiful, well kept, clean and tidy. Plenty of shops, bars and restaurants. Though we didn't access the entertainment there was clearly plenty to do down on the beach, massive inflatable course and parasailing etc. Prices were very reasonable even on the front and didn't feel like we overpaid for anything, except maybe pick and mix sweets but that's to be expected. The transport system was exceptional, with buses ever 20 mins at great prices.

During my stay in Hospitalet de Llobregat, Barcelona, I enjoyed being just a few subway rides away from the lively city center while still escaping the constant crowds. With several subway stations nearby, it was easy to get around—within just 10 minutes I could reach iconic spots like the Sagrada Família or even head out toward San Sebastián Beach. The quieter atmosphere of the neighborhood provided a more relaxed experience, allowing me to enjoy the scenery at a slower pace. Local cuisine was another highlight—tapas, fresh seafood, and other authentic dishes made every meal memorable. The area was also conveniently close to Josep Tarradellas Barcelona–El Prat Airport, making both arrival and departure stress-free and well connected.

Although very close to Barcelona and, importantly, its airport, el Prat is a separate village with its own history, and it still feels that way; it is a small world away from the bustle of big Barça. There is stuff in the locality to explore as well as what seemed to be a couple of good restaurants. I was only passing through and could have cheerfully have used Mucho Masia as a base for a day exploring nearby.

Overall, an excellent stay.

Overall, an excellent stay. Check in is smooth, the front desk staff speak English and Spanish. The room is quiet, well appointed, comfortable bed, enough space. The pool area and pool are very nice. The hotel is about a 5 minute walk to the beach, and close to restaurants, shopping etc. One of the buildings does not have an elevator so if you have any issues, make that clear on booking so they can accommodate you. The outdoor area by the restaurant has cocktails and they are good and priced ok. We didn't have the breakfast but the restaurant doesn't just serve coffee. You have to get the breakfast. An improvement would be a Keurig or nespresso in the lobby for the guests. Even if guests had to pay for pods, it would be worth it for the hotel to do. Just a nominal charge, breakeven charge

Loved it!

Loved it! In some ways, a typical Spanish city but the Catalunya culture was evident all around as was the uniqueness of Tarragona history and the way the Roman and medieval timelines are interwoven with the modern day. Very walkable city with everything easily accessible. Super family friendly with plenty to do for younger kids and teens and still a really afforable place to spend time.

Beautiful seaside town very clean.

Beautiful seaside town very clean. Lovely little shops & restaurants. You can enjoy a stroll along the sea front or take a boat trip along the coast to neighbouring villages or the mini train around the national park. There is a lot of history in the area you can visit the museum at the citadel and the neighbouring town of Castello de Emporium. If you like Salvador Dali you can visit his home in the qaint Village of Carques & the museum at Figueres. All very pretty towns. Everyone I met was enjoying themselves. You can have a very relaxing holiday in an area which is unspoilt.
