That's something that's not advertised well on booking.com, you need to know the layout of the city, to know that lovers beach is actually a peninsula and the only hotel that has a private beach there is triumph, there is a fast boat ride every hour taking the residents from the beach to the other beach in the peninsula. The staff was very helpful trying to go over and beyond to make our stay comfortable and easy. They try to help with outside trips and site seeing and also to buy the authentic merchandise of marsa matruh, the city doesn't have a lot of tourists from outside of egypt but I believe very soon it will be one of the favourite destinations because of the great site seeing which doesn't exist at anywhere else. I believe that 4 days stay is exactly enough to visit all the sites you needed to see and take amazing photos. I would personally recommend visiting again. For the facilities, the room is very wide and clean with 2 bathrooms and 2 balconies, both with sea view. The facilities of the hotel are good in comparison to the rest of the city. I would like to point out a suggestion for this hotel and for all the other hotels that will make the beach more enjoyable; you need to install showers at the beach side with the cute foot tub like all Asian hotels. Also, if possible extend a stone passage through the sand of the beach that can extend to the marina for water sports. That's all I could imagine I would add to this hotel. Thank you so much for a lovely and comfy stay that will be always memorable among our family trips

The atmosphere is breathtaking , the whole team work for your comfort and your happiness for unforgettable trip . The facilities, Pool , the service and the staff, the food, the view from our room looking at the lake , Great private beach despite it far about 3 minutes by car form the hotel , amazing access to la femme beach . It was a superb experience and we will definitely come back. A big greet to all the employees of the hotel especially Mr. Abdalla in the reception , he was amazing person ! He is truly the best hospitality person ever and knows how to make his guests feel welcome and taken care of. In fact , All the staff at the hotel did their best to for our needs at all times. I understood from the smiles in their eyes that they do their work with great love. The overall the experience was Luxurious and comfy and Highly recommended Bravo to Le royal marina hotel team.

Panacea suites hotel has everything you need for a great stay. Firstly I would like to thank Mr.Shady Elwy,the front desk manager. He has been very prompt, kind and generous. He made our stay pleasant. Always on his toes to assist us. We were offered a nice room with a balcony and pool view. The chef prepared customised delicacies for us. Overall it was a wonderful stay. Only the manager speaks English, it was then hard to communicate my needs with the other crew members of the hotel but I do speak a little and understand so I kind of made it ! And well, they were adorable. I think it is the most important. And they upgraded me for free in a beautiful bedroom with a magnificent front beach view.

The worst place I’ve ever been to in my life.

The worst place I’ve ever been to in my life. They humiliate you just to book a restaurant or go to the beach, with strange rules: entry is only allowed for couples, and for couples the woman must not be veiled. It’s extremely expensive, and I wouldn’t recommend anyone to even consider going there.

The town itself isn’t geared for tourists as there are no restaurants that cater for you if you don’t speak Arabic. If you are happy to stay in your hotel to eat then you’ll be fine. We were there for 3 nights having travelled from the desert in Siwa & it was a great place to rest for a few days before heading back to Cairo & our flight home.

Was the best surprise in our trip to Egypt. Marsa Matruh has two of the best beaches we ever saw in our lives: Cleopatra and Agiba. For sure we will be back. We loved also the Museum of Marsa Matruh. There is a McDonald's just in front of the beach, so you can eat your "big mac" or an ice cream with an amazing view!!! The people of the city are not very used to meet strangers in my opinion, it seems that differently of Sharm el Sheikh and Hurghada, Marsa Matruh is more focused for Egyptian tourism instead of foreigners, so not everybody speaks English there. Prices are cheaper than in other cities of Egypt. We had a taxi driver that became our friend even we only could talk using Google Translate. Very warm personality and we booked him to guide us in all the beaches in a day trip. We can't wait to return to those amazingly beautiful and crystal clear beaches!!!

It is not a city you can visit as a tourist.

It is not a city you can visit as a tourist. You need to book in a resort which you may leave once during your stay to have a dinner in one of the bedouin restaurants in the area. If you’re not going for business make sure to pick a resort with all facilities you might need.

don't go to Matruh in peak season( July & August) too many people are in the streets & on the beaches, choose remote suburban location outside main city if you are a foreigner or Non Muslim women as culture & religion are playing against you if you want to take a dip in the sea wearing a one- piece swimsuit, the city is blessed with splendid nature and is cheap,
