- From US$119.42 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.5Very good - What previous guests thought, 217 reviewsGreat value for money – peaceful stay with beautiful reef and pool I stayed at Marina Resort in Port Ghalib and was pleasantly surprised by the combination of price and quality. The hotel has a charming traditional Arabian décor that creates a peaceful and nostalgic atmosphere. One of the highlights was definitely the beautiful coral reef just off the beach – perfect for snorkeling lovers. The pool was large, clean, and very relaxing, a great spot to unwind during the day. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the overall service was good. While the food could be improved in terms of taste and variety, considering the overall experience and affordable price, it’s a great value for money. If you’re looking for a quiet, relaxing escape with stunning sea life and a good pool, this place is definitely worth considering.Guest review byKubilayTurkey
- From US$161 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.3Very good - What previous guests thought, 78 reviewsIt was very close to the Abu Dabab beach, which was one of the best beaches I've ever been to, with amazing snorkelling, sunbathing and diving opportunities, and some nice bars to get some cold beers. The rooms were clean, cosy, and comfortable, and the area around was full of flowers and greenery, which gave such a nice feel to the place. The staff were so friendly and welcoming, always making sure we were ok, and the food in the restaurant was great. This place is great for SCUBA divers or people who like to spend most of their time by the ocean.Guest review byKiarnaSpain
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.2Superb - What previous guests thought, 65 reviewsWe stayed in the tent and chalet. It’s a different experience but both are wonderful. Everything centred around and well organised for guests to enjoy underwater life to the max. The concept attracts a certain type of clientele, mostly divers, who are not there to party and make noise but to enjoy and respect nature. Wonderful to disconnect.Guest review byjaydFrance

Some places offer excellent takeaway food.
Some places offer excellent takeaway food. There is a public beach a little further away (a short walk across a small desert area) with exceptional underwater flora and fauna. Bring shoes for walking in the water. Please stay above or near the coral (personally, I didn't know there were risks to swimming too far from the reefs, namely sharks. But I didn't see any. On the other hand, there were some exceptional fish! Port Ghalib is a tourist spot but much, much quieter than Hurghada. If someone tries to sell you something, just say ‘La, chokram’ with a smile and everything will be fine. Don't forget to tip a little, as Egyptians earn very little (around €400 per month for a family of four). For activities, I recommend Royal Sea Tours (royalsea-tours.com), who are really great. I love Marsa Alam and Abu Dabab most, as far as the Red Sea...
I love Marsa Alam and Abu Dabab most, as far as the Red Sea goes. My favourite place of all time is the Concorde Moreen Hotel, with the Hilton coming a strong second. We only ate at the hotels, because our time was limited. I used the taxi service offered online by Booking.com, which I found to be very efficient and reasonable. But I am also a seasoned traveller in Egypt and do not find it difficult to negotiate with taxi drivers. (It can be very useful to ask Chat GPT first what an average trip should cost you, if you are unsure, and then use that as a guideline for your negotiations.) It's an amazing experience to go out on a boat, but picking the right one can make the difference. I will be leaving my review on our experience separately (as it warrants a whole story on its own :))Guest review byAnnie RuurdsSouth Africa - 10.0
Very quiet town, simple and the sea is amazing.
Very quiet town, simple and the sea is amazing. You can swim anywhere. No so much facilities ( food places, supermarkets,..) and pharmacies located around hotels. Weather is hot, limited gas stations and road is not preferable to be taken at night.Guest review byMennaEgypt - 4.0
The sea was beautiful.
The sea was beautiful. Unfortunately strong winds kept me from going into the sea. We stayed mostly in the lagoons. There was no access to sea from the beach, only from the pier. The life guards were good and attentive.Guest review byRolandSwitzerland - 8.0

"I did not leave the grounds of the Iberotel Costa Marès.
"I did not leave the grounds of the Iberotel Costa Marès. There are already so many wonderful things to do like snorkeling, diving, massages and especially the many activities offered by Captain Mahmoud's extraordinary team and the high quality shows performed in the evening. All the staff are adorable, attentive, attentive both on the beach and by the pool as well as in the various restaurants, not to mention the maintenance staff and gardeners, the cooks, the waiters (mention special for Ahzem from the main restaurant, Abd Allah at the pool restaurant, Mostafa who is part of Mahmoud's team, Hod Hod on the beach and many others of whom I don't really know the spelling of their first name. are all very courageous, with a sense of humor and kindness like I have rarely seen. Everything is put in place so that you only want to do one thing... come back as quickly as possible."Guest review byValérie LannoyBelgium - 6.0
I mentioned everything in my review, what I liked and didn’t...
I mentioned everything in my review, what I liked and didn’t like. Mainly, I noticed that someone bought a quad bike tour, and they were taken just a little way behind the hotel to ride on a pile of sand for a short while. There was trash and plastic all around, a complete wasteland—nothing pretty. I’m used to greenery, which I understand is lacking in this destination, but I definitely wouldn’t buy an overpriced camel or quad bike tour. Especially because, in that heat, it wouldn’t be an enjoyable experience for me, and with the trash around, definitely not. I did a diving trip, but it ended up being canceled. Unfortunately, they made us leave our things (like backpacks) in a place where locals were moving around, and we had no way to secure them. The original plan was that we would be on a boat. In the end, it didn’t happen, and that was probably for the best. I booked the trip through Booking. I had no particular expectations, even though we were supposed to see dolphins. Eventually, I arranged for diving, and I enjoyed it. Since I’m already a diver, it was easy, but when I saw how they even turn diving into a business, it bothered me. I saw parents forcing their 12-year-old daughter to try diving. She was crying, didn’t want to do it, but the father insisted because it was paid for. I watched her struggle and feel uncomfortable. It saddens me to see that everything can be bought with money, and that’s just wrong.Guest review bySmile08Czech Republic - 8.0
Nice place to stay for one week if the weather is OK.
Nice place to stay for one week if the weather is OK. Very good place for snorkeling or you can watch coral reef directly in the harbor without being wet. Just bring slice of bead and you will see a lot.Guest review byDavidCzech Republic
