Everything was so superlux!! I really-really love Hotel Villa Hügel - it is so pretty, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was sooo good and there was lots of food options, staff is so friendly and helpful all the time! And the view - there is no enough words to describe how beautiful it is!!! The location was absolutely wonderful, such a charming part of Luxembourg to stay in. The hotel is really cute with only 4 rooms, and the staff is extremely kind. The room was fantastic, clean and we loved how it didn't feel like your typical chain hotel. I have nothing negative to say, absolute 10 out of 10 and we will be recommending to all our friends.

A fascinating city, small enough to walk across but take...

A fascinating city, small enough to walk across but take advantage of the free, yes free! public transport! Excellent buses and tram (one line). Lucky transport was free because overall it's a really expensive country, particularly for eating and drinking out. Shopping was reasonable. Views are spectacular, looking across the Petrusse Valley into Grund and Pfaffenthal. We enjoyed the Bock Casemates tour and a good free walking tour. My favourite bar was The Store, near the impressive Spuerkeess Bank building on Avenue de la Liberte, over the iconic Pont Adolphe. Enjoyed some excellent typical Luxembourg fare in Brasserie du Cercle and a lovely hot chocolate in the sumptuous Chocolate House, right opposite the Grand Ducal Palace. Picked up general shopping and souvenirs from Monoprix and the wonderful Hema. Easy train links to Metz (France), Cochem (Germany) and Arlon (Belgium) plus bus links to Echternach and Vianden within Luxembourg.

Wonderfully interesting and historic town.

Wonderfully interesting and historic town. Don't miss Constantine's Throne Room. The Museum is not user-friendly (grim-faced staff and compulsory route through every section), but it has a superb collection of Roman artefacts, mosaics etc.

Echternach, if not the entire t of Luxembourg, is an...

Echternach, if not the entire t of Luxembourg, is an underrated gem. Being English we barely heard a single country person and you are really missing out! If you love the outdoors I couldn't think of a better place to come. Public transport is entirely free and very easy to navigate with the brilliant app mobiliteit.lu. We went on trains, buses and trams entirely free the whole time. It is very easy to set off from Echternach on a bus then walk all the way back, or just do a loop then return back to base. The Mullerthal trail app again is really helpful to find out what walks are in each area - app.mullerthal.lu. But you could just walk directly from Echternach and our youth hostel. The Hostel was set on the lake. There was a climbing wall, bike hire, walks and swimming lakeside. A huge adventure playground with toilets, a Roman villa, a great restaurant - all within minutes. Two supermarkets, one close to the lake and the other in the town gave plentiful options for food. The town is very attractive and has a long pedestrian street with outstanding restaurants (if you love Sushi go to Wangs, it was out of this world). It's a simple hour trip from Luxembourg city so could be done in a day but that wouldn't do it justice. You could also get to Trier in Germany (amazing city!) in about 45 minutes if a city trip was your thing. You should go!

Mondorf-les-Bains is a charming town with over 5,000 inhabitants located near the Luxembourg Moselle River. Home to the only casino and the only spa and fitness center in the Grand Duchy, it benefits from all the advantages of a big city: -Everything close to home, -Easily accessible by public transport, -Many leisure and recreational opportunities, -Fascinating architecture and cultural heritage, -Many shops, A wide selection of hotels and restaurants. In short, an ideal place to relax and recharge every day.

Berdorf is my favorite go-to location if I wanna go on a hiking weekend. It's about a three hour drive from where I live, so very doable for a weekendtrip. The entire Echternach region in beautiful (check out the Mullerthal Trail), but the region around Berdorf is especially beautiful. The forests around Berdorf all have those typical rock formations with stairs and ladders, little chasms etc that really make it so much more interesting than a normal forest hike. The town itself is very small and is really just meant to spend the night in between two days of heavy hiking.

Amazing location to explore the Mullerthal Trails and the nearby Grun Holle. Beautiful mossy forrests. Great amenities including sauna and indoor pool. Friendly and efficient staff. I would have loved a week here.

Luxembourg is a beautiful area to explore. We enjoyed the old parts of the city and see how if has adapted over the centuries. It was wonderful to know that the mass transportation in the city is free for all to use and we did not have to worry about having to navigate the payment system.

Wonderful visit to the black gate, free of charge. City center is nice. The roman museum was a bit of a let down - all signs in German, and even with the audio guide most items did not have any explanation. City center did not have that many restaurants.

Great place for a short hiking/relaxing trip.

Great place for a short hiking/relaxing trip. The paths are perfectly sign-posted and there are so many to choose from. Easy to get around, and having free public transport makes it even easier to get around.

A truly amazing hotel, staff and spa facilities everything...

A truly amazing hotel, staff and spa facilities everything including the weather was perfect. The health box at the poolside bar lovely. The peeling sauna great! The Dolce Vita restaurant great italian food and good value. The villa welcome great hotel.
