The hotel is approximately 6km from the central train station (Freiburg im Breisgau, Hauptbahnhof). Public transport is available right at the hotel driveway via Bus number 17 and then Stadtbahn (City tram) number 1 goes straight into the city center. To get to the hotel, simply reverse and catch the number 1 Tram and then the 17 Bus. It takes about 25 minutes in total and costs 2.4 euro per adult. When getting off the train and then onto the tram, simply ascend the stairs that are parallel to the main street directly from the platform number 1 and catch the number 1 tram in the direction of "uphill'. The rooms are clean and quiet and have everything most people will need. Wifi was good. The staff were very friendly, helpful and accommodating. The breakfast in our case wasn't included as we were out most mornings before 6am, however on the one morning we did have the breakfast, there was plenty of breats, meat, eggs, yoghurt, cerials, meusli, tea, copffee, juice etc. For anyone who's travelled in Germany before it's the hotel staple! Everything was great.

It`s a truly fantastic property, located in the thermal spa complex and at the foot of Black Forest. Fantastic stay, albeit short, after a full day of shopping in Freiburg. Very relaxing, quiet, with big, comfy room and the terrace which opens onto Black Forest. During the day, you can run/hike across Black Forest or hit the Thermal Spa - and stay there until the evening ;-) The local restaurant serves locally sourced and very yummy food. I appreciate the staff being very understanding and accommodating to my food requests. I am looking forward to going back there in the spring/summertime.

A small town known for its thermal springs (Vita Classica baths and thermal clinics). Located not far from Freiburg and having good public transport connections, it allows visitng the area which is reach in sights and attractions, including beautiful nature for hiking. We were turned away by the hotel as were not vaccinated.

We were turned away by the hotel as were not vaccinated. The receptionists said we should have looked up Google to find out if we could stay in that region of Germany.. I do believe that booking.com should have informed us. We had been driving for many hours from the Netherlands, I am 80 years old so was exhausted. Also the hotel should have told us before arrival. We carried on to Switzerland as the only option where we found a decent hotel. I am shocked to see that have since been charged the full amount by this hotel.

Bad food and really bad service from the Reception and in the restaurant. Reception would not share information on relevant activities in the area, e.g. outdoor public swimbad 1 km from the hotel. We asked two persions in reception over two days and the refused to tell what was evident on Google map. And was a really nice public swim bath.

This is a very good base for exploring the region, especially with the free bus and rail pass. The buses are regular and punctual, and connect with the main railway line at the next village up, Denzlingen. The village itself is really beautiful and, although there are lots of hotels, has kept its character. I recommend visiting the local wine cooperative. The local red wine in particular is quite unlike the generic stuff we are usually offered in the UK and well worth trying and bringing some home.

A beautiful town which we had visited earlier in the year for the wonderful Bread Market. We were here this time for the Christmas Market which was most enjoyable with plenty of local goodies and very well attended. Having visited a number of Christmas Markets in France and Germany, this was one of our preferred ones - too many of the well known markets are too big, heavily commercialised and this was a wonderful experience.

I liked the old town with the water channels and the character buildings. We walked up the hill and climbed the viewing tower and had an excellent view over the city and surrounding countryside. The Dokumentationszentrum Nationalsozialismus (Documentation Centre for National Socialism) in Freiburg was very impressive. We stayed there to be close to Frankfurt airport and able to fly directly to Scotland.

The staff is excellent, very helpful and professional. The room was great,the bed comfortable. The windows can be opened and block out all noise. Our room was on the traintrack side and with closed windows no noise was detected. The breakfast was delicious with variations for any taste. The dinner options are minimal, mostly pizza or varieties thereof.
