- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.6Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 263 reviewsZámek Křtiny was home and a place of shelter to my mother and her school mates during WW II - a lot more basic back then! So returning to this place after 80 years was fraught with memories for her, but we so much appreciate the understanding and amicableness of the staff in the present-day hotel (and special thanks go to Tereza). Yet even without this background, the hotel (at just 20 km from Brno) would make a very pleasant base to explore the Moravian Karst with its many caves and wooded hills – a perfect autumn getaway. The large pilgrimage church that adjoins the hotel and the pretty gardens are additional attractions. The hotel is tastefully furnished throughout (bedrooms, restaurant, conference rooms) and all rooms were spotlessly clean and well heated. Great views from the terrace. We also enjoyed two excellent dinners in the hotel's restaurant.Guest review bybkirsteUnited Kingdom
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.2Superb - What previous guests thought, 291 reviewsThe whole ambience was really cozy. The room was huge, with nice roof windows, and the beds were very comfortable. The dinner was quite good and the staff friendly. They even allowed me to charge my car in one of their plugs. We joined the jacuzzi in the morning, it was raining outside and the panoramic windows made the experience very special. They also allowed us to stay in the spa for an extra half an hour, all of this when we had already checked out. Breakfast was quite varied, with fresh bread and most things you would expect. They had toys for kids in the restaurant, which is always appreciated when traveling with children.Guest review byMario JesúsAustria

Starting with the location ,spot on,beautiful, quite rural areas,The hotel staff was really helpful and friendly. Kitchen cuisine was delicious, overall highly recommended place for family stay. Things worth mentioning inside the hotel Kras are a swimming pool ,hot tub and jacuzzi, and also play room with darts, PlayStation and more, so plenty things to do. If we plan to go in this area again, we will definitely stay in this place again. .Guest review byArnoldUnited Kingdom

There is a lot of charm and a strong tight knit community. There is a self-service bar which is on the honor-system, very nice! Will go back for a 1-night stay anytime passing by! Nice restaurant and great beer! :) Also, very dog-friendly, great place for them to relax as well! Trust me! :DGuest review byestispheriousPoland
- From US$116.10 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.7Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 742 reviewsvery nice surprise! Hotel room clean and nice. Friendly stuff and MORE than standard breakfast! (Weitress politely offered good espresso/capuchino/etc from coffe machine (not the one pre-coocked); offered to bring lemon to tea etc. Small things but that makes experience from that place really great.) For that money really worth it! Definitely recommend to stay here:)Guest review byAlesCzech Republic

We can use transport to the Punkva caves, then also just walk to another ones. On the place we can find three parking spaces, tourist information center or restaurant or fast food also with clasic Czech Smazeny syr and good beer.Guest review byWanderLustExplorerCzech Republic

We stayed in Blansko only for one night in order to go to the Karst. It was a manageable trip by train from Prague and then taxi to our hotel at the Karst. The buses from the train station to the Karst are limited, but a cab was easy to get and pretty cheap. The area by the Karst was gorgeous. We enjoyed about a 30 hour trip - train from Prague, cab to hotel at the Karst, hike, drinks, dinner, spend the night, two fantastic tours in the caves, taxi back to town, late lunch/early dinner in Blansko, and back to Prague on the train. It was well worth all the travel.Guest review byMauraUnited States - 10.0

It is a short drive from the Macocha abyss and Punkva caves. It would have been nice to visit more caves and do some hill-walking. We stayed in Brno separately, but unless you want evening entertainment there, it is close enough (20 min drive) to visit from Křtiny (Villa Tugendhat is a must-see there). In Křtiny, we also found a nice café/bar just behind the post office and there is another restaurant opposite. There is a friendly atmosphere in the place. Everybody says hello. Zámek Křtiny - being run by Mendel University Brno - is surely a great place for conferences. Equally great for weddings (with the church next door and nice scenery).Guest review bybkirsteGermany - 2.0
Hospitality however is not their strength.
Hospitality however is not their strength. The men working at the hotel don’t bother look at you, they don’t give tourist information (or not complete, such as that you can’t visit the caves with little children), and are just not good at hosting. Childfriendly should be the quality of the hotel; and yes there is a playcorner, but it isn’t open every day. And for the babybed you have to pay extra, something they forgot to tell (also for the sauna, which costs a fortune). The bill was full of extra costs. It was not at all what we expected and we will advise you not to go to hotel stara skola!Guest review byg.Netherlands - 10.0

Our room was clean and comfortable. This small town is a good base for seeing the wonderful surrounding countryside. Recommend seeing any of the caves in this area.Guest review bysusanUnited Kingdom - 10.0

If you have a car, there are a lot of possibilities what to do. Within the distance from 15 minutes to max one hour of driving, you can find many caves, castles, water activities, hiking routes and much more.Guest review byAlexandraSlovakia
