Heredia is not my favorite place in Costa Rica.
Heredia is not my favorite place in Costa Rica. It is too busy, very confusing, and somewhat anxiety producing. I was there for eye surgery, so it was necessary this time, but it is not a place that I tend to frequent while in Costa Rica.Guest review byMunro - 10.0
Tirimbina is a magical place.
Tirimbina is a magical place. The grounds are nicely maintained. The trails are a bit tricky with concrete pavers which serve to give you a less muddy hiking experience, but they are not solid pavers, so just be aware that it’s not a smooth trail. The pavers end as you go deeper into the forest. We did an excellent coffee/chocolate making tour which we enjoyed immensely and also a night walk which was enjoyable. The restaurant is excellent! I am so glad we found this place!Guest review byCathyUnited States - 6.0

San Antonio itself is a great base to travel from, it is close to Airport and to Car rentals, there are Supermarkets nearby also if self catering, however it is a little too far from other central attentions if your intension is to stay in San Jose itself.Guest review byBenjaminUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Good roads but narrow as usual thru towns.
Good roads but narrow as usual thru towns. Different landscape with the farms and greenhouses and coffee plantations in rolling hills. Waterfalls. Loved the drifting clouds coming up the valleys in the evening. Cool evenings and warm days.Guest review byDonnaUnited States - 10.0
A slice of Tuscany in the lush green landscape.
A slice of Tuscany in the lush green landscape. Warm hospitality with cool breezes. Uniquely furnished and well equipped cottages. This is the paradise that is Finco Paraiso. The beautifully planned gardens were a treat to the eyes with fresh fruits and colorful flowers all around us. The breakfast was delicious with locally grown produce and rich and fragrant Costa Rican fresh ground coffee. The hosts were gracious and took the time to check on us when there was an unexpected black out( blackouts hardly ever happen there!). Everyone in our group wished to return with our partners and families as we just could not get enough of this jewel neat San Jose!Guest review byshyamUnited States - 8.0

I was there for a medical appointment, and only stayed two days. Having lived in Costa Rica for 6 years prior to this, I knew what to expect. I did, however, get to visit the Oxygen Mall for the first time, which is an amazing experience, and I did find a stuffed capybara to bring back for a friend.Guest review byMunro - 8.0

The grounds were very nice with lots of birds, the room was clean but basic with good Air Con, it could do with re decorating and the bed was a bit firm, the staff were very friendly and the breakfast was nice, we had one evening meal which was fineGuest review bymicky42gUnited Kingdom - 8.0
Cute little town near the airport.
Cute little town near the airport. Probably not a destination, but, if you have a night to kill before flying out, it's fine. Otherwise, there isn't anything I know of to draw visitors. Couple cute restaurants on the main street. Felt safe walking around after dark.Guest review byJPS-IIIUnited States - 8.0

We went to La Paz Waterfall gardens and it was an amazing place. You could easily spend an entire day there. Also the area is known for strawberries. We bought some from a roadside stand and they were delicious.Guest review byAlice - 10.0

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Heredia, although, unfortunately, it was only for one night. The place was very clean, easy to find, and the hosts were super friendly and accommodating. The breakfast was terrific, as well. Such a beautiful place.Guest review bySusanUnited States
