The main hotel has a couple of rooms where the original flooring, panelling etc has been maintained. The ceilings are fantastic. When busy, the hotel has other rooms just down the street. These are still in a historic building. The rooms are very comfortable. And everything is central.

Our room was spotless, comfortable, and quiet, featuring a spacious and relaxing bathroom. As vegans, we appreciated the extra effort the hosts made to provide us with suitable breakfast options. We’ll definitely stay here again — next time we hope to try the restaurant and bar, which were unfortunately closed during our visit.

I had a wonderful stay at the Centrale. It's a great location in the historic centre of Poschiavo; everything you need is on your doorstep. As long as you are staying more than 2 nights, you will get a tourist card which includes free public transport in the valley, which is so handy. The staff were all very friendly and kind to me. I stayed in one of the rooms on the top floor, the bed was the biggest bed I've ever slept in in my life. I really couldn't have been any more comfortable and happy there. The breakfast offer was plenty for me and set me up well for each day. The price is more than fair for the area, really good value for money. I love the Valposchiavo and would definitely stay at the Centrale next time I come back. Grazie a tutto il personale.

We received a warm welcome on arrival by the owner with an immediate offer to take us to the train station complimentary. That was only the start of all the personal touches. Twin room had 3 beds in. We requested if they could cook us a omelette or fried eggs instead of the eggs they served for breakfast. It was no bother and done with a smile. Instead of just dropping us off at the railway station the manager carried our luggage and introduced us to the man behind ticket counter. All these small and so important things are not seen other. Well done from seasoned worldwide travellers.

Excellent short stay on our bike trip in the area.
This definitely feels like more than 2 starts. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and very clean. The building is historic and really beautiful. The breakfast was excellent! Safe storage for the bikes - just what we needed. :)
Very kind staff, we felt very welcome!
We definitely want to come back to the beautiful village of Poschiavo, and when we do, it will be to Altavilla!

The small B&B is located in the beautiful Poschiavo valley. The design was very stylish and the atmosphere very relaxing. Breakfast was super with fresh bread, home made cake and juice and jam made from the on premises cultivation. Short walking distance to the Campascio train station on the Rhaetian railway line. Recommended!

The staff were so welcoming and friendly. We had dinner in the restaurant and the food was delicious. The room was so comfortable with lots of little touches to make your stay more comfortable. Staff were more than happy to help with anything you needed. I would highly recommend a stay here.

It’s a lovely old original property in a quaint old fashioned typically Swiss / Italian square. The room was just the right size with a lovely warm bathroom floor. Breakfast was continental and comprehensive.

Poschiavo is tranquil and serene place.
Poschiavo is tranquil and serene place. Small town but big enough to walk if you want a calm quiet moment. I found this place is a bit cheaper to eat in the restaurant than in places like zermatt. Quality of food is better and delectable. It’s walkable town. I will come back next time I go again in Switzerland.

The restaurant offers a varied (but not too big) list of menus, some with typical ingredients of the region, such as Posciavo's red polenta (really good). The breakfast is simple but with all the components you need to start your great day.

The borge (town centre) is very beautiful (and quiet, as it is almost car-free). Many interesting sights, small workshops, museums, cultural and architectural things to see and explore. Friendly people.
Once you have seen it all, start exploring the whole of the valley that offers everything from the Bernina Hospizio down to Tirano in Valtalina vallley. There is something for everybody for every season, be it mountain-biking or discussing local literature experiences and tasting the regional bio-food surprises.....

We were taking a train trip through Switzerland and this was perfect for an overnight stop. Really close to the train stop, a very good restaurant, very friendly staff and we were pleasantly surprised by the lovely bedroom with spacious lounge area. The breakfast was also good.

Lots of interesting architecture, pretty villas and palazzos. Museums not open in the winter which is a shame. Great to use as stop-over on the Bernina train line. Lovely surroundings and not overly touristy. Some very nice looking restaurants although not a lot was open in February.
