The hotel was truly amazing! Breakfast was superb, great ingredients and everything was super fresh and local. Facilities were amazing - the spa had literally everything with the view, room was very clean and spacious, they even had wine fridges on all floor!

The town is very small so it's very easy to get around.

The town is very small so it's very easy to get around. The town itself is very nice and clean, there are lots of flowers. The views are stunning. The hotel guests are provided with passes allowing to use the cable cars to go up the mountains for hiking or just walking. The same passes also provide free access to the town swimming pool.

Driving up the mountain was quite an adventure for someone...

Driving up the mountain was quite an adventure for someone like me, accustomed to the pancake-flat roads of the Netherlands. The winding roads were challenging, especially with a few cars descending as I made my way up. At one point, I even had to turn around after missing a left turn just past a restaurant—but what a blessing in disguise that was, giving me an extra moment to take in the breathtaking scenery. The view from the top was absolutely worth every twist and turn. A truly unforgettable experience!

It is a perfect place to feel the alpine ambiance, quietness all together with the always present swiss cows with their bells accompanying our daily experiences. The location is just special and retired from the crowded chalets in Champéry. Generous owners that decided to share his paradise. Don´t miss this opportunity!

Perfect summer holiday destination with the lake a short...

Perfect summer holiday destination with the lake a short drive away and plenty of walks/hikes in the mountains. Also, a good location in winter as not too far from the slopes. I have been holidaying in Novel for many years and each time I return it just keeps getting better.

We stayed for six days in Champery in January for skiing in...

We stayed for six days in Champery in January for skiing in Portes-du-Soleil. The ski resort is huge. We were able to never do the same run and lift three days in a row. Champery is a historic Suisse alpine village with nicely presented shops, bars and restaurants. Expect to spend approx +30% in Switzerland on everything - especially food. Be prepared that some shops take only cash and impose any cash withdrawal fees on you.

Val d'illez is a small Swiss mountain village situated in a valley near the ski village of Champery and ski lift centre of Les Crosets. It is small and facilities are few and supermarket is small. Own transport is necessary to make the most of your stay.
