in-front of a supermarket & 10mins walk to Oeschinensee gondola. Very nice & clean facilities. A very friendly & helpful guy in the reception, who gave me a discount voucher for the gandola, free bus ride & discount to Blausee.
bottom line - AMAZING STAY. will come back.

United StatesThis is a wonderful resort for families. We traveled as 3 generations and there was something for all of us to enjoy - separate and together. The views are amazing and the food was very good. The staff was so nice and all spoke some English. I am American and speak no German, but I was fine and everyone understood me and were helpful. We arrived on a Thursday night and did not use our car until we left on Sunday. Everything we needed was in the resort or the village.

Great location. Kandersteg is one of the best places you would want to be in winter. You can go to Oeschinen Lake(cable car from Kandersteg) for some breathtaking views both in summer and winter. That is also a great place for skiing for beginners and more experienced people. The place is a bit outdated, but you have all the facilities you need and you will be greeted by great staff. The pizza they have at the ground floor restaurant is great and you get to choose your toppings. We only went on a short trip and stayed only one night but it was one of the best experiences we had in Switzerland. In the first day we went to Lauterbrunnen and took the cable car to Mürren(about 1h by car from Kandersteg) and in the second day we went to Oeschinen Lake. Lots of things to do in the area, so even a 1 or 2 week stay will be pleasant. Breakfast was nice and the staff was nice.

What a beautiful hotel it is! Beautiful building with stunning rooms, amazing staff that always greats you with a smile, great atmosphere and top notch restaurant. We loved everything about it. We came by car and hotel offers free parking for the guests. It’s also located a stone throw away from the train station. Frutigen is a beautiful, scenic Swiss town, with amazing people and atmosphere. I had the best Wienerschnitzel I’ve ever eaten. I loved it so much that I ordered it again just a day after! We’ll be definitely coming back. We already miss Feutigen and Hotel National.

The room was spacious and even had a full sized bathtub. It fit me neck to toe with my head just chilling on the edge. I made good use of it of course to relax after a long day of via ferrata in Kandersteg. For 40 francs this is absolutely insane. Not to mention that breakfast was included with a huge collection of tea bags and drinks to choose from. Also the views out the window were unobstructed and amazing.

Room was fine, breakfast was great. Staff was extremely helpful and accommodating and are the main reason for great review. They offer hiking poles to borrow, self-serve laundry free of charge and were willing to help on all our requests.

The staff was very friendly and the service was great. We were upgraded to the suite since the hotel was not overbooked. The spa was great with lots of different saunas. The surrounding mountain views were spectacular.

Kandersteg was incredible, out of season so was super quiet...
Kandersteg was incredible, out of season so was super quiet for the perfect chilled couple of days. The hike to lake Oeschinensee was beautiful, the snow adding to the whole experience.
Great transport links to the rest of Switzerland, has shops to provide what you’ll need while you’re there to cosy up in an apartment for a few days.

Venue is very secluded.
Venue is very secluded. This is meant for hikers and campers and not for families travelling place to place. The eating area is infested with flies that makes it very unhygienic.
The room has no air-conditioning and the window has no grills and makes it unsafe to be left open with children. This caused us to sleep in a window shut room making it extremely hot in the summer with only a fan to provide ventilation.
They have no hot water kettles to boil water for children

Kandersteg is a beautiful place for hiking and outdoor...
Kandersteg is a beautiful place for hiking and outdoor activities. I highly recommend to go to the Oeschenesee, it was one of our favorites on our trip. If you stay a little bit longer, maybe you also want to go to Saint-Leonard underground lake, what is easy to access with a car train that leaves from Kandersteg.

We traveled as 3 generations and there was something for all...
We traveled as 3 generations and there was something for all of us. We had so much fun and never even used our car. We loved the village and the hiking path along the river. The restaurant was very good. We also enjoyed the restaurant next door in the botanical garden and fish farm. We had a wonderful time and I would recommend this place to all families.

The apartment was spacious and had a terrific view from the balcony. Free parking was close by and checking in was a breeze. The kitchen was stocked with all the necessities and the refrigerator was good sized. The bed was comfortable and there was plenty of room for 5 adult guests. We could stay here again and highly recommend this property.
