We had to be close to the ferry for an early morning crossing. Downtown was mostly closed when we arrived close to 5:00 pm. We walked to a coffee shop, but it had little to offer and we left without making a purchase. The hotel has a restaurant but we didn't want a heavy meal, so didn't eat there, but the menu looked OK. There's a pretty park across from the hotel and a beautiful view of the waterfront from our window.

Both restaurants were excellent! Acadian museum was fascinating especially getting a tour from a local who made the whole experience that much more interesting Great white shark diving! I mean it doesnt get any better than that! Shore shot hunting store has the nicest owner! Check out the warf for some really big boats I wish we had a couple more days in the area we wanted to see the acadian village and just hang out in a little longer

I had planned to just spend the night so that was perfect.

I had planned to just spend the night so that was perfect. Quiet, scenic town. Had dinner at the Red Cap Restaurant - cesar salad, glass of wine and cheesecake for desert. Cheesecake so so, not homemade.

Yarmouth is a delightful community with lots to do in and around the town. There are great restaurants, and shopping centers, and tourist attractions nearby, and within a driving distance of one hour or less going north or south out of Yarmouth. We stayed 4 nights in Yarmouth this trip. One day for example, we traveled to Digby and Annapolis and returned via the Evangeline Trail. Another day we traveled to Acadia Village and the Museum. Another day to the Barrington Passage along the Light House Route and stopped at Daniels Beach. And we went to the Cape Forchu Light House.

We stayed during an unusually wet period in mid-July.

We stayed during an unusually wet period in mid-July. It was very foggy early morning and late night, so we were unable to see much of a view. However, we got a few glimpses in, and it was very cool looking in the lowlands of Nova Scotia, particularly in Lower East Pubnico where we stayed. The landscape is very different in all six regions of N.S. With only 2 days to get in what we could, we were very surprised at how warm and welcoming the native people are and how beautiful the province is. We want to come back to see more and possibly travel north to New Foundland as well. We met a group of bikers on the C.A.T. back from N.S. to Maine and they told us so may stories about the way of life in N.S. and N.F. it will make you want to live there. Truely an amazing province and amazing people too.
