The room was spacious and comfortable, stunning view from our 4th floor window and it even had a coffee machine which was just a lovely touch. The breakfast was the best continental/hot breakfast combo options I experienced during my trip through Vancouver Island. They even had a pool which was such a treat after 2 weeks traveling. Loved the place. Stunning areas like Campbell River, Oyster River and Elk Falls are less than an hour's from there.

The grizzly bear tour to Butte Inlet with Homalco Tours was absolutely amazing! The guides were incredibly knowledgeable and we saw many grizzly bears including mum's with their cubs and a huge male feeding on salmon. I can't recommend this tour company enough. Thank you for making our trip so amazing!

Mountain and Comox Bay Scenery were great.

Mountain and Comox Bay Scenery were great. Downtown Courtenay had many interesting shops, good coffee shops and bakery. Traffic across river can be slow at times. Adjacent to Comox is a bonus with Comox marina, beautiful sea views and Comox airport is 4 km from Courtenay. Courtenay is walkable. Chocolate shop/bakery on main street not to be missed.

It's a seaside town with an air base, an air museum, a marina and various parks. BC generally isn't big on organised attractions, and though there are paths along coasts you won't find ice cream vans, bucket and spade shops etc. This is Canadian seaside, and it's very different from the Victorian English vision of what a seaside resort should be like.

It's lovely to watch the stars by the water enjoying the campfire at night, the view is breathtaking during the day. Unfortunately, the owners are not using the place up to its potential. There are much more things that can be done to this place.

Cumberland is one of the Hidden Gem towns of British Columbia. Lots to do there, considering it's a small town, and worth visiting especially if you enjoy walking, hiking, mountain biking, etc. If you arrive in a vehicle, Cumberland can be a convenient center for exploring the outdoors in every season: alpine or cross-country skiing, snowmobiling, or fat-tire biking in winter; swimming and boating, etc., in summer; and hiking all year round. Cumberland is a vibrant town with pubs and restaurants, excellent parks, some little shops. Nice relaxing place!

Gold River is a small town, but has sufficient facilities for travelers. I highly recommend that any visitor include a drive further down the highway to the end of the inlet where there are float plane tours and boat tours available. The views of the ocean and mountains from shore at the dock is spectacular.

Denman is gorgeous and less populated than Hornby, less busy -- but also way fewer amenities. Luckily, we had brought food -- as it was a holiday Monday and literally everything on the island seemed to be closed.

We loved the hiking, waterfalls, wildlife and so much more. The Visitor Centre was very helpful. Only complaint is for the Provincial Parks…there needs to be better signage in the trails for safety.

Stopped here one night before flying from Comox airport. Seemed a nice local town and residential area with small independent shops. We didn’t have time to visit any nearby attractions or eat at local restaurants.
