The cabins were perfect, the facilities were outstanding and we loved our spot with the fire pits and picnic table right outside our doorstep. Our children gravitated to the games room and pool. We enjoyed our stay in Calgary.
We enjoyed our stay in Calgary. The parks are good and the downtown area clean and easy to walk around. The Peace bridge over the Bow River has a contempary design and it was interesting to see the trout spawning in the river below. We visited the Stampede showground (GMC Stadium) for a Scream Fest which was alot of fun. As the weather become colder we headed indoors and got some great coffee/hot chocolate at the Rocky Desert market cafe on the corner of 3rd avenue SW and 5th avenue SW. Another food recommendation is the Bank and Baron Pub were we had a very good lunch on 8th avenue SW near 1 street SW. Anyway we hope to return to Calgary sometime to explore more of what the city has to offer.Guest review byColinAustralia - 10.0
Wonderful area to explore the mountains of Canada.
Wonderful area to explore the mountains of Canada. Early October didn't have too many crowds. There are many places to see on your own, so consider renting a car and hitting the road. We truly enjoyed the fresh, mountain air and the downtown area of Banff. Banff is quite expensive, especially going out to eat, so be prepared for that.Guest review byErikaUnited States - 6.0

We were there because of an emergency landing of our plane which was traveling to California. I didn't see much of Edmonton therefore. They did say Lake Louise and Banff were only 4 hours away, so that might make it interesting for someone.Guest review byJoanna F.United States - 8.0

We ate at Fiddle River- the food was excellent and the service was superb. We also had an icecream at Scoops- the range of flavors was tremendous. We went shopping and my friend found a bathing suit for $40 that is unheard of. The hot tub at the Lobstick was fantastic 👌 The kitchenette was great at the Lobstick.Guest review byLeighCanada - 4.0
Lake Louise attracts thousands of visitors who have to be...
Lake Louise attracts thousands of visitors who have to be managed; it's overshadowed by the mass of the fairmont Chateau hotel. Louise is one of hundreds of vividly coloured, turquoise lakes in the Alberta Rockies. If you want beauty with a little peace and quiet look elsewhere. Emerald lake, half an hour away from Louise, is beautiful ad attracts fewer visitors. Peyto lake, see photo, on the Icefield Parkway is perhaps the most dramatic (hint: don't turn right into the parking but continue straight on to the upper parking and avoid a strenuous climb uphill on foot). Accommodation at Lake Loise is expensive. Consider staying in Banff or Golden and driving into the area. Parks Canada has useful info about shuttle service and parking.Guest review byChrisUnited Kingdom - 8.0

The hotel and room was quiet, clean and comfortable beds. For guests with EV and Plug in Hybrid vehicles there are no on-site plug in stations for overnight charging. The Hotel is close to restaurants and gas stations. I will stay there again when passing through Hinton.Guest review byDovell - 10.0

We used Leduc as a staging area, before flying home from the Edmonton airport, which is also a very nice airport, with lots of amenities. In that respect, Leduc is full of hotels, restaurants, etc., I.e. all the amenities you may want or need, before driving or flying to your next or final destination. Also, if you rented a vehicle for your trip, you can fill the gas tank up at a reasonable price at Costco or some of the gas stations near the airport (just look on GasBuddy) before returning your rental vehicle.Guest review byGeorgeUnited States - 10.0

Red Deer is a beautiful place to visit with lots of treed parks, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, rec-centres, historic downtown and plenty of shopping. It is close to Sylvan Lake and Lacombe for added adventure and exploring.Guest review byJodyCanada - 8.0

I loved walking the blocks around the Villa, with many new shops and services, and a revitalized vintage feel. There were places to shop and eat, though we were there on a Monday morning when most were closed. There are several beautiful old churches to admire, and a striking new city hall.Guest review byMarjorie FixCanada
