The location and the placey is very cozy and quiet! This is a very old farm house. The part of the house where we stayed has a big chimney. And it was totally worth to purchase woods for it! Nice terrace and big backyard with a field for petanque - nice to play whole family! Trails for hiking are around the corner! Hosts are very friendly and helpful! We loved the place and can totally recommended to for an escape from cities' hustle and bustle!

We loved our stay here. We were welcomed with friendly faces into a beautiful home and our "Queen Mary" room was a great size (with a loft), with a lovely view of the garden. The breakfast was fresh and delicious, with baked goods, eggs, fruit, and an embracing ambiance. There was parking on the property and in front on the street. The centre is walking distance, either along the main road, or the scenic route along the lake. We went to the Center Parcs pool to swim, and it's only a few minutes walk (though very pricey!). For those with an electric car, there were chargers close by, in the parking lot of the Spar (maybe 100m away), and a quick charger a bit further down the street in a public parking lot. The only thing I would suggest, is that since the room was on the top floor, and there was no air conditioning (or at least I didn't see it), is to perhaps have a fan in the room just to circulate the air a bit. I wouldn't go so far as to call this something I didn't like, but if you can't handle heat well, this would be a nice solution. Overall, I would definitely go back. Thanks for a lovely stay!! Our stay at Parkhotel Villa des Effats in Vielsalm was a pleasant experience. Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed by the owner. Our room was spotless and equipped with everything needed for a comfortable stay. The highlight was the excellent breakfast, which was perfectly taken care of. In addition to the extensive breakfast buffet, freshly fried eggs were served at the table. The hotel restaurant is also highly recommended: delicious pizzas and pastas! A pleasant stay, with particular attention to hospitality. We will definitely come back here!

The area is very beautiful and everyone we interacted with...

The area is very beautiful and everyone we interacted with was kind and helpful, even though our French isn't very good. There are wonderful hikes and even fishing spots. We went to a brewery called La Tharēe Bière and had a great time. We had dinner at Contes de Salme and I cannot recommend the stonegrill meals enough, so good and so much fun! I recommend going with a car though, I think it would be difficult to get around with public transport and walking.

The Ardennes area is a rural area dotted with small towns...

The Ardennes area is a rural area dotted with small towns and a car is a must to see the area. We went there specifically to see the battlefields of the Battle of the Bulge in World War II and to figure out where my husband's great uncle, who died in the Battle of the Bulge, was buried. We accomplished our objectives. We also visited a quaint but very well done World War II museum in Manhay. Because this area is a resort area, many restaurants are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.

It was honestly just fantastic!

It was honestly just fantastic! Me, my family and our dog went there for a relaxing getaway and this was exactly the vacation we dreamt of so quite a long time. Nature, beautiful Vielsalm and helpful employees did their best to make our stay unforgettable. I definitely recoomend this place if you're looking to have a pieceful family trip! Oh, and almost forgot! we've had so much fun in the Aqua area. It's definitely a big plus of this place.
