Whitsunday Sands Resort is uniquely located on its own private peninsula, by the turquoise waters of the Great Barrier Reef. It offers all guests private access to 2 separate, magnificent beaches.

An outstanding place to stay sandwiched between two attractive beaches on the outskirts of Bowen. Our upstairs unit was spacious and clean and had fabulous views from the valcony out over the well kept grounds to the ocean. We self catered, but the motel has a bar and there is a restaurant down by one of the beaches which is open on certain days of the week. I understand there is also a Thai restaurant nearby which opens at weekends. We enjoyed the circular walk up to the radar station lookout and clambering over the rocks to a couple more secuded coves. There is also a swimming pool sensibly situated to the side of the building we were in. Reception was friendly and efficient, and we appreciated the on site laundry.
