This is heaven on earth. Outstanding location in a wonderful lodge with kangaroos directly looking into your face. Very warm welcome and really nice conversation before via mail with the staff. A personal note: the offered hampers are very good and you should try them. Highly recommended to reduce daily stress and calm down. We absolutely recommend it to our best friends and would try to visit again.

Plenty of helpful advice on dining etc. (Breakfast was 'Continental' which must offend those from the European continent....a bit sad, but an adequate start to the day. Staying at Turon Gates to visit the nearby Capertee Valley for birdwatching. Loved the place. Beautiful setting on a peaceful river and Gang-Gang Cuckatoos right outside the cabin ! We also saw hundreds of Kangaroos nearby from the road leading to our cabin ! The cabin was spacious and very confortable. Excellent place for the money.

There is an abundance of scenic look outs, beautiful gardens, waterfalls and history everywhere. Large number of eating options. We joined the Katoomba RSL and enjoyed the dining there which was very good value for money

Leura is a fantastic place to stay to tour the Blue...

Leura is a fantastic place to stay to tour the Blue Mountains Park. The Three Sisters, Katoomba Falls and other spots are easy to access, but we recommend early starts to the most popular spots before the tour busses arrive. Leura Mall has great places to eat, including Leura Cafe, Leura Gourmet and the wonderful Elysian restaurant.

Blackheath is vibrant and beautiful.

Blackheath is vibrant and beautiful. It’s a little bit low key than Leura or Katoomba, and has great shopping, antiques, great pubs and a wonderful vinyl cocktail bar. There are many walks and hikes close by. If you’re not up for a hike, find a lookout and see the beautiful vistas.

Lithgow is very under rated.

Lithgow is very under rated. There are many things to do and some of the lookouts have fantastic views. Just do your homework before you get there and get the large tourist map which highlights all the things you can see - it is fantastic.

The cleanliness and position of the property was spot on. There were 5 of us with only 3 bedrooms so we didn't all get a bed to ourself. There is a separate cabin outside which would have suited a younger person as no bathroom

The property is modern on the inside, with well-appointed bathroom, comfortable bed and cosy shared sitting room. The breakfast was perfect and set us up for the day, with home-made yoghurt and muesli, warm croissants and muffins that arrive at your table in the comfortable lounge room. Views of the mountains make this a beautiful setting to enjoy a few days. We felt at peace from the inside out. Easy to find, well-lit even at night time. Added bonus: free wifi worked perfectly. One of my favourite ever places.

A quiet country town, just starting to recover after closure...

A quiet country town, just starting to recover after closure of coal-fired power station. Local people are very friendly and always offer assistance when asked. Wallerawang has a couple of pubs and a lakeside park ideal for BBQs. It is a good stay location for access to Rydal (daffodils), Lake Lyell, The Capertee Valley (Garden of Stone), Lithgow and the Glow-Worm Tunnel. Could even stop-over here before proceeding on to Mudgee.
