The front desk was exceptionally helpful, making us feel well taken care of throughout our stay. The multilingual staff made communication effortless, which was a great relief. I was pleasantly surprised by the variety of magazines and books available for reading. There were plenty of daily activity programs to enjoy, keeping things lively. The facilities were clean, and everything was managed in an orderly and professional manner.

Extremely good localisation! The ski slopes are really just outside the hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful, food was delicious! Saunas were always empty so we were able to use them. The swimmingpool has water at a very pleasant temperature. The gym was also usually empty and easily usable. It was very silent in the hotel. It is a very good option to buy dinners at the hotel as there is very limited number of other open restaurants in Obertauern!

Such an incredible property. Loved the pool area, the saunas and private area - everything about the hotel makes you want to stay there. Heaven in the mountains. The only downside is that it is next to a road, but I guess it's a great upside if you come without a car. If you get a chance - book for at least two nights.

Absolutely amazing with children and still the parents can have a bit of luxury as well. Ski in & ski out location is ideal! On site ski school for small kids is a game changer and the ski instructors are so attentive. Abundance of activities and facilities for children. Lovwly (adults only) spa on the 3rd floor allows for a break from the child friendly rest of the hotel.

A Fantastic Family Ski Holiday at Places by Obertauern! Our recent stay at Places by Obertauern was nothing short of wonderful. This hotel truly caters to all ages and preferences, making it the perfect choice for a family ski holiday. Our son was thrilled with the games room and the PS5s, while our daughter loved relaxing in the cinema with its nightly movie screenings. The top-floor games room, conveniently located next to the rooftop bar, was a hit with the whole family. The DJ on some evenings added a special touch, creating a vibrant and enjoyable atmosphere. We also loved sitting outside the rooftop bar under the patio heaters, watching the piste bashers prepare the slopes for the next day – a truly unique experience! The buffet offered a fantastic selection of delicious food, catering to all tastes. A special shout-out must go to Martha in the restaurant. Her hard work and dedication to ensuring our comfort made our stay extra special. We were also incredibly impressed with her extensive wine knowledge and excellent recommendations. She truly elevated our dining experience. The location of Places by Obertauern is ideal for skiing. The slope just a 5-minute walk away provided easy access to the nearest lift after a short ski down. While this particular lift might not be ideal for complete beginners, it suited our family perfectly. Nadia in the ski section was incredibly helpful and made booking lessons a breeze. The hotel reception staff were also excellent. They efficiently handled our lift pass purchases and were incredibly accommodating when we requested a last-minute late checkout. They understood our desire to take advantage of the perfect snow conditions for a final two hours on the slopes before our flight and even arranged our additional lift passes. Their flexibility was much appreciated. Finally, the ski hire shop on the ground floor was incredibly convenient.

The breakfast is good with a wide choice of warm (saussages, eggs, ham) and cold items (ham, cheese, marmelade, cerreals, fruit, etc.). The dinner is good -allways with a meat and fish choice. Fish is fresh - as Valmar has a direct supply line from Croatia. The rooms are spatious, clean and well eqipped. The apres ski bar is well eqipped with very friendly staff. Parking slots are available in the garage , but do not forget to book a parking slot for your car in advance!

The hotel has a gorgeous view! Wish the rooms all had the same view- though I stayed in the junior suite, it was on the 1st floor and it was as wow as I would have wanted. But if you’re here to ski, it has a great location- a bridge that connects directly to the slopes, so you can ski in and out. The ski lifts are just a small slope down hill. The hotel also has conveniently located lockers for your ski gears. If you need to rent, the ski shop (with fabulous service and good quality equipment) is right at the hotel. The hotel can also arrange for ski lessons and purchase of the lift pass. There’s a lovely spa with a small pool and gym downstairs. Kids play area is small, with just enough to entertain for a short afternoon of poor weather. The buffet breakfast has a lovely spread and even includes Prosecco if you drink in the morning! Dinner menu is a five course, pricey so skip unless you prefer not to trudge out for a meal, which is about a 8min uphill walk. It is also in the middle of the two bus stops at Oberteaurn , so expect to walk 7-10 mins either way (upslope or downslope) Overall I would say this hotel is great if you want to ski, or chill at the lobby area to watch people ski. Amazing hosts, very friendly and helpful. The rooms are small, simple but very comfortable. Food is great, a lot of different varieties. Location is top notch, right on the Gamsleiten ski slope. They also offer a Finnish sauna. It can get a little crowded, but it gets the job done and is amazing after a hard skiing day. Great value for money !

We were on our road back home and decided to do sleepover, this hotel exceeded our expectation. Location was great in mountains, everything perfectly clean and staff very friendly. In the end we regretted that it was only one night but we will definitely come back. Extra plus for dogs being allowed in breakfast room!

Huge selection of food and all of it of exceptional quality (often organic). Super delicios and fine dining quality dinners. The wellness areas are also luxiorious with big tea and drink selection (for free). No matter what is the weather outside, you can spend a wonderful time inside the hotel with your family.

The hotel is located at the outskirts of a beautiful village in the Alps. We could hear the calming sound of the stream in our room. Nice trails nearby for a short walk with dog. Good breakfast. Friendly staff willing to give advice on how to spend time in the area.

Great restaurants, worth booking a table if you're in a larger group and they open later in the evening, like 5-6pm. Various menu options including vegan/vegetarian. On the slopes the bars are playing very loud music but serve quickly so you don't wait too long.

It is a very beautiful and quiet town.

It is a very beautiful and quiet town. Beautiful views of the mountains. Ideal for hiking. There is a very nice river that runs parallel to the main road. Maybe there should be an ice cream parlor in the summer. That would be nice.

If you want your skiing winter experience to be idyllic, be sure to book a room right here. Hotel on the trail + extraordinary food offer (breakfast, lunch, mid-meal and dinner) + activities and content for the youngest and super-friendly staff will make your annual event unforgettable. The possibility of leaving the hotel directly on the ski lift and already in the first slope to feel the perfect tracks or powder trails, simply magical. Plus, while Obertauern is covered in natural snow, other surrounding ski resorts don't offer nearly as much satisfaction.

Favourite places: the beautiful mountains, lakes around the walking trails, you can do paddle boarding on one of the lakes, free of charge hiring the board and paddle, breathtaking views Binggl Bakery: wide variety of pastries, bread and coffee, great place to have breakfast.
