We booked this property at random as we were headed from Wien to the lakes. We were blown away! There’s so much to like about the property. The rooms are modern and recently renovated, and are thoughtfully decorated. The facilities are accessible and my husband loved the gym. The breakfast was out of this world - SO DELICIOUS - and there’s a communal fruit bowl in the lobby which was such a nice touch. The terrace is so pretty as well if you visit in the summer. There’s a SPAR very close by as well if you need to buy anything. The manager (or maybe owner?) is very kind and personable.

We liked the room 202 with balcony very much. It was spacious and very clean with very nice views of lake. Staff especially Burim who works at the reception was very kind, polite and helpfull. The location of hotel was very good and parking is very near hotel and free of charge. Breakfast was very good with wide range of food and you can get refill if needed. Will definately stay in the hotel again if we come to Wolfgangsee.

We had a wonderful time. The place was well-maintained and tastefully decorated. There were no problems at all. All the amenities and facilities were excellent, exactly as described. The staff were extremely polite and helpful. Located in a very beautiful and quiet area. The breakfast was exceptional. If we visit this place again, it will be our first choice. we did not know it was a "Singles" hotel but it was fine for my mother and us. People were friendly and staff was lovely and accommodating. Beds were comfortable and views were breathtaking. The forest and field/trail walks were lovely and hiking and swimming were our major pass times as well as visiting with friends. The indoor swimming pool was lovely and the outdoor pond a great plunging pond in September after a hot tub visit. Dinners were exceptional and breakfast is "healthy" with many choices. There is always a vegan/vegetarian option available.

Linz is an industrial and admin centre on the (definitely not blue) Danube river . Small airport with (as at July 2025) 2 flights a week from London STN. Pedestrianised town centre with a mix of old and new architecture gives no clue that the pleasant clean town has an active steel works. No special tourist draw but a reasonable base for touring and onward travel, Large Danube cruise ships stop at Linz but most passengers are sent to Salzburg by coach and make minimal contribution to the Linz economy.

Lovely village to visit for a couple of days.

Lovely village to visit for a couple of days. The lake is wonderful to go boating on. Hopefully the cable car up to the top of the hill is working soon. The hike is suitable for young adults and up to fit 70 year olds. The food eatery are lovely but check out the ones behind the main street.

This is merely a city for business trips or when you want to visit special events. The city and shopping opportunities are rather limited. We spent a few hours here, travelling through, but we didn't feel that we missed anything when quickly checking out the city.

We travelled with 3 different trains from Vienna to...

We travelled with 3 different trains from Vienna to Obertraun in order to visit Hallstat. Unfortunately, the transportation wasn't very convenient for us. One of the trains that we had arranged was late and we had to wait two more hours in order to get the last train to Obertraun. We departed from Vienna at 8:00 and we arrived to Obertraun at 15:30! Obertraun was very close to Hallstat. Hallstat is a magical place but next time I would prefer to visit it by car.

Nice old town that has nice stores and good restaurants to go. I liked the Christmas decoration in the town center. Bad Ischl is a good place to stay and drive around to some other towns like Bad Ischl, St. Wolfgang, St. Gilgen, Dachstein and Badausee

I was uncertain how to find my hotel and a woman who was on...

I was uncertain how to find my hotel and a woman who was on my bus went out of her way to help me. On another occasion, I couldn't find a restaurant and a resident took the time to show me. I ended up not eating there, but at Eden, where she had asked for directions. The pizza there was one of the best I have ever had (and I've had a lot). A boat ride on Wolfgangsee is a must, as is taking the cog railway to the top of the mountain and admiring the scenery. Also, spend time walking or sitting by the lake, very calming. Perfect location, very easy to find , countless free parking spaces. Immaculate. Very good restaurant. Highly recommended for couples. The only drawback is confirmation of reservation needed by verifying your credit card.

Such a wonderful place.

Such a wonderful place. Beautiful buildings and great cafes and restaurants. The Traunsee tram makes public transportation easy. The only downside is the short term parking, so got to look for pricey underground parking or free parking lots which are far away.
