The hotel is directly on the lake shore, so it was great to just go to the hotel's bathhouse and swim in the lake from there. Lovely cocktails and food at the hotel. The hotel is very dog friendly, which we love and the staff is really nice

Very clean, comfortable and felt like home! It was like a little apartment, so we could find absolutely everything we needed. The location is quite and lovely, it’s just 10 mins away from the lake. 6-7 mins away from a grocery shop, and 2 mins from a bakery. If you love architecture and esthetic spaces this is a hotel for you. Harmony of colours and extrafine woodwork in the smallest details. As centrally located as possible. Beautiful museums only a few steps away, and the lakeside to walk, bike or to take a morning/evening swim. Enjoyed also a walk to the old “upper city” and a boat trip on the lake. Breakfast was Excellent. The staff reserved us our own moment to enjoy it. All products were Local and ecological. The staff talked with us and served us as we were their friends visiting by. Their concept is super sympathetic. Unique, personal and something special. Loved it.

    The location was wonderful, there are no beaches, but you can get in the water through docks with stairs. The lake is so clear! Unfortunately, we were in one of the few rooms with no balcony and no view. There was construction going on a property a few houses away so this woke us up if we had the window open. There are lots of jogging/walking trails and places to chill by the water. It's worth the expense for a special occasion as a middle-class person, it is on the very expensive side. For the two nights, we stayed there, we did feel like royalty.

    This is a great place! Beautiful location, and the staff takes excellent care of it. Clean modern rooms with nice views. The restaurant offers several options for dinner and all of excellent taste. Local products are used. Great advice from the sommeliere for Austrian wines. Excellent breakfast. Huge spa area, swimming pool and garden. Hiking, biking, sightseeing - lots of options nearby. Staff is polite, friendly and well-trained.

    I only stayed 1 night, as a stop on my way to Italy. Lovely city, I will for sure go back (and likely tour the whole lake). Only downside is to get there: roads were packed as hell, with lots of traffic jams. Much like the Italian lakes.

    The abbey complex is the place you want to see if you are interested in history: the museum, the vault and the library are amazing and absolutely worth the visit (and the price, that is even cheap). Getting around the town is easy, both walking and using the public transportation. If you arrive by car, remember that a great part of the center is not accessible, but there are parking areas open 24/7 that cost 20 CHF for 24h.

    We were in Bregenz on the 23rd and 24th of August 2025. It was a coincidence that the Hafen Fest was on those days, and I cannot judge what is Bregenz usually like. For us there were too many people on the lake shore... but I know some people love this. The best places for me, must-sees: 1. Pfänderbahn (in good weather) 2. Lake shore (always, but especially at sunset) 3. Old downton (and Uppertown) We went everywhere on foot, and it suited us perfectly well.

    We visited friends here and enjoyed the views over the lake and wandering around the waterfront. The city is known for the obvious focus of boating, bathing, and relaxing, but we also found a nice, downtown with historical charm. Try the Muenster St, Nikolaus for relics and an up-close trip back in time, and then explore the old town around it.

Hop on the bus (very simple to use and covered by the hotel tourist card) to visit nearby towns, get to the train station, or the ferry station. We were able to visit Lindau-Insel on a day trip by bus/train, spend 5-6 hours there, and still made it back in time for dinner and watching the sunset over the lake. Konstanz, and Insel Mainau are easily reachable by bus/ferry.

    Easy access to transport some of which was free for tourists...

    Easy access to transport some of which was free for tourists, particularly the buses and the trains. Boat ferries run everywhere around the lake quaint side streets with shops and restaurants and bars. Has quite an interesting history being in such a strategic location.
