Amazing location that is well worth the travel!
Amazing location that is well worth the travel! Lots of people stay in Puerto Madryn instead of this little town as they make their day trips into the national park. That is a huge mistake. This town arguably has the most homely feeling vibe of any town I’ve been to so far in South America. Feels so cute and all of the locals know each other. Walking down the street you feel like you’ve slipped into their sleepy town lives and it’s an amazing break from the fast paced travel I am used to. This coupled with the amazing/diverse wildlife, fantastic local food/drink, abundance of activities, beach at your doorstep and spectacular landscapes surrounding the towns make it one of the most memorable places I have ever travelled to. Please don’t miss this town!Guest review byJakeAustralia - 10.0
Puerto Pirámides is the only village/town on the Peninsula...
Puerto Pirámides is the only village/town on the Peninsula Valdes with hotels, a few restaurants, a gas station, WiFi and where the whale watching boats depart from. The place offers everything you need for a stay of 3-4 days as a base for the tours, also a beautiful stretch of beach and gives you already the feeling of being close to nature - at least in the morning before dozens of buses with tourists arrive for the boat tours and from late afternoon after the last buses have returned to Puerto Madryn. We were there mid November, at the end of the whale season, it might be a completely different place from December until June, outside of the whale season, for sure with much less buses for the day tours.Guest review byViktóriaNetherlands
