After a few hectic days in busy Rio, we were looking for a peaceful escape on Ilha Grande—somewhere away from the crowds. Araçatiba turned out to be the perfect spot. This charming little village with its beautiful beach made us feel like we had the place almost to ourselves. Pousada Tropical was a great choice. Our room was very clean and comfortable, with good air conditioning and a nice bed—everything we needed for a relaxing stay. But what really made the difference was the wonderful staff. They were incredibly friendly and helpful, giving us great tips and always willing to assist. One of the highlights was their thoughtfulness. On our last day, we had to catch an early boat, and they made sure we had breakfast prepared in advance so we could take something with us. That kind of care and hospitality made our stay even more special. If you’re looking for a quiet, authentic experience on Ilha Grande, away from the tourist crowds, Pousada Tropical Araçatiba is an excellent choice. We had a fantastic stay and would definitely return!

We loved how calm and clean the property is. You can tell the owners really care about it and your experience. A major plus was the personal AC unit in the room for warm nights - it really helped make us comfortable.

The owner and staff were lovely, brought us by boat to many places on their own volition, gave us great tips of place to go. Always helpful and nice to us.

Located in Praia de Araçatiba, a few steps from Aracatiba, Pousada Refúgio Do Capitão provides accommodation with a hot tub, a steam room and an open-air bath. Great location right next to the beach! Adama our host was incredibly helpful & so friendly. He helped to organise our boats and trips and negotiated cheaper prices. He did our washing too for no extra charge.

The food at the restaurant was fantastic. The beach club was a great amenity that we wish we had used more. The staff was very friendly.

Located in Abraão, 100 metres from Sain't Sebastian Church, Pousada Leão do Mar has a shared lounge and rooms with free WiFi access. We loved our time at this understated pousada. The staff are lovely and are always working really hard to make sure everything is perfect for guests. Although it is small, it is nice having a pool to cool off in. The breakfast is amazing.
