Just 50 metres from the beach and 1 km from Rethymno Town, Archipelagos Hotel is set on a hillside with panoramic views over the Cretan Sea and the Venetian Castle. Facilities include an outdoor communal pool and private pools, a pool bar and free WiFi. Great hotel with extremely helpful manager at the reception, really nice man, he gave us lot of useful recommendations to our travels. We really liked the breakfast. While the siting arrangement was basic and choice not lavish, the products were local and home made giving us great local experience. For us, quality of product is more important than width of selection. If we travel to the area again, we will definitely come back to this hotel. Great view from our 8th floor room.

It offers air-conditioned accommodation, some self-catering, and free Wi-Fi in public areas. The popular Elafonisi Beach is 650 metres away. The apartment was perfect – they even gave us a free upgrade. While it didn’t have a sea view, it overlooked the mountains and olive groves, which was beautiful. The hosts were very kind and welcoming. It’s highly recommended to stay at least one night so you can enjoy the beach early in the morning, before the crowds arrive.

The combination of excellent service, fantastic amenities, and a breathtaking view makes it a top choice. The hotel exceeded all my expectations in every way. There are 7 outdoor, 4 outdoor heated and 1 indoor heated swimming pools, 5 children's swimming pools, a waterpark, an open-air cinema, various sports facilities including a water sports and diving center, a fitness center and a children's playground. We loved that it was so big that the beach and pools weren't overly crowded. However, we did stay on the adult exclusive side so our pool was a bit more relaxed and less people. I definitely recommend if you want a relaxed couple trip to go for the adult deluxe for sure. Otherwise you may be surrounded by screaming children. They even have a separate area on a very nice covered patio for adults only at the main buffet. As well as some adult only nights at the restaurants. It is also a very good resort for kids! They had plenty of pools for kids as well as an arcade, waterpark, kids club with activities throughout the day, etc. We ended up just relaxing by the pool/beach but they had activities for adults as well if you're interested in that. Greek lessons, out door cinema, live music, etc. WE LOVEDDD the aperol spritz bar, wish it was closer to the adult pool 😉 (but it's not that far 😂) We loved the view from our seaside room it was beautiful. The way they set up our room for our honeymoon was adorable (and it was free of charge☺️). The room also had an included mini bar, robe, and slippers. The house keepers were incredible! They kept our room super tidy wiped down the floors daily, gave us new towels (including beach ones) Servers were amazing as well, even during rushes they kept their cool. a la cartes were absolutely incredible. Platia's food was INCREDIBLE. I've never been so full in my life. Mademi was also pretty good food wise, but the views were so so good. We didn't get to the others because when looking at the menus they seemed similar to what was at the main buffet for vegetarians.

It's about 10-15 minutes walk to the village center, but there are tavernas, mini market , supermarket etc, just next door
