Our hot tubs, which are included in the stay, are located outside, 300 meters from the guesthouse. Staff is super. Location and view on the valley and glacier, everything is new and furniture basic, but all you need! We had extra time for breakfast and they cooked extra waffle for the kids. The wifi was a bit weak in the breakfast room, but not an issue at all. There is a really nice mini-exhibition with rocks and minerals in the sitting room, with some history about the place with focus on local nature. Just 15/20 mins from Hofn, with plenty of restaurants available.

Rooms are brightly decorated at Hof 1 Hotel and have either shared or private bathrooms. The room looked much better that the building (buildings) from the outside. Those looked bit older, but inside it's very nice and I think also renovated. Everything was very, very clean, huge thanks for that. and the receptionist? Keep him!!! Welcomed us very nice receptionist who spoke at least 4 different languages, it was the end of the day and he had still huge smile on his face, very patience, knew how to multitask because he was able to serve 6 different customers almost at the same time. He was doing receptionist, giving advices to other visitors, act as a waiter because we asked him for a beers, so really amazing stuff. Breakfast are also nice and you can choose whatever you want :)

I appreciated the flexibility around breakfast times—there was no rush, and I could enjoy my morning meal even if arriving at the end of the schedule, savoring it without feeling hurried. This laid-back approach contributed significantly to the overall feeling of comfort and ease during my stay. My accommodation was a charming little house entirely constructed from wood, with thoughtful and attractive decorations that created a cozy and welcoming atmosphere. The eating area followed suit, adorned with vintage decorations and decorative natural flowers, making every meal feel special. Having a parking spot right next to my house added an extra layer of convenience, simplifying my daily excursions. While the accommodation didn’t offer dinner during my stay due to the low season, this turned out to be a hidden blessing. It led me to explore the nearby city of Hofn, where I discovered some fantastic restaurants for my evening meals. In summary, my stay at Árnanes Country Hotel was nothing short of delightful, thanks to the incredible warmth of the owners, the beauty of the surroundings, and the comfort of my accommodation. I left feeling refreshed and grateful for the experience.
