Everything at Amba Kola was exceptional - especially the people. Louise, Janik, and Janik’s whole family are the loveliest people you will meet. The food is fantastic - everything is locally sourced and prepared with the finest spices and lots of love (Janik’s mom is an award-winning cook by the way). At Amba Kola the hosts will go above and beyond to make your stay memorable. They took us around in their safari jeep to see the elephants and wildlife and we even went swimming in the canal! The room (and the whole property) are lovely with so many personal touches to it. Louise is an artist and her art is present all over the place! Also, the outdoor bathroom is unique. I showered in the dark under the stars - an experience like no other. All I can say is: Come to Amba Kola and see for yourself. These people deeply care for what they do and it shows in every aspect. You won’t be disappointed!

Wow, 5-star service! He takes such good care of guests, so friendly and helpful, and also a wonderful cook. The place is very peaceful, I stayed 3 days. There are two stand-alone huts that are brand new, even the AC units are new, bed was comfortable.

Buddika is a very pleasant and attentive host. When we arrived in the evening, he treated us to a sour-sop smoothie, and when we returned from the safari, he offered us refreshing papaya juice. The room is very clean with a view of the park. It's just a couple of minutes to the park, which is very convenient for heading out on safari in the morning. We booked the safari through Buddika, and everything was great. We had a private jeep, and our driver, Udar, spotted animals that we wouldn't have noticed otherwise and told us a lot about the animals and plants.

great place very peaceful set in middle of sugar farming village. lovely hosts. had first time experience playing badminton which was amazing. chef cooked some nice curries. pool was a blessing in soring heat. Hotel arranged a safari tour where many heards of Elephants were seen and lucky to spot a Leopard at far distance

Had a fantastic stay at Royal Tusker Hotel Udawalawe! The new pool was a perfect place to unwind, clean, relaxing, and well maintained. Definitely go for the half board option, as it was the best dinner we've had in Sri Lanka so far. Host is super friendly and helpful. We organized our safari through him, and it was great.

the treehouse is awesome - just be sure to book here. the personal is veeeeeery nice. breakfast is more than much and great too. you could also go on wildlife safari. chef of the accomodation himself has more than 20 years of experience in safari.
