Hotel Frohe Aussicht is located in the small village of Schwende near Appenzell. I was mainly looking for a place to stay for one night, and I chose this one because it was conveniently located and had its own parking space. So I wasn't expecting much, but it quickly became clear that Hotel Frohe Aussicht was an excellent choice. The room was basic, with a private balcony and bathroom. The hotel had an excellent restaurant. The staff were nice and professional. The views from the balcony were amazing. I could have spent more nights here. I definitely recommend it.

This is the best choice, if you’re looking for Swiss experience. I got the room with the balcony, looking directly at the cathedral and the stream flowing down. The breakfast is simple, traditional and varied, but the hospitality is amazing.
