I was shocked at how many hotels and restaurants were still closed in Ha Long due to a lack of tourism after Covid. This hotel was a little gem on a big wide promenade style street. The staff all spoke good English and went out of their way to help us. The room was spotless and very comfortable and they went out of their way to ensure that we had a nice breakfasdt.

Wow my Birthday stay here was incredible! They had a gorgeous setup at the dinner table and the whole crew sang. The facilities are all very new, the team is well trained and perfectly polite. The food is well made and plentiful. They have activities planned for the whole duration of the stay, these where well organized. The rooms are gorgeous with balconies and of course great views, can defiantly recommend this cruise

Boasting a 24-hour front desk, this property also has a restaurant and a year-round outdoor pool. The accommodation offers a lift, full-day security and currency exchange for guests. The view is not great, but it is very convenient for sightseeing and business transactions. The room has good soundproofing. The room rate is reasonable for customers with a limited budget or a tight schedule, who don't need to spend much time in the room.

The room we stayed in has a big space, traditional style, and is very clean. The bathroom has a rain shower and a separate jacuzzi bathtub, and we could see a beautiful view through the bathroom's big window. There is also a balcony that we could sit and chill on, drink our beer, and enjoy peaceful and quiet Halong Bay scenery. The staff (Johnny, Tommy, Mr. Vien Manager, et al.) is very friendly, helpful, and enthusiastic. They ensured our memorable experience. A round-trip private car from Hanoi to Halong Bay was arranged well (2.5 hrs on the expressway). We were picked up from the hotel in Hanoi at 9:15 am. The room included 3 meals a day, water activities (cruising & kayaking), and an excursion (bicycle tour) at Cat Ba. We highly recommend a 3-day and 2-night stay. On the last day, we left something on the cruise. The staff, especially Thuy Dang, was very helpful and thoughtful to manage to deliver our stuff in Hanoi. We really appreciate it.

Absolutely everything! Beautiful hotel with modern amenities. The bed was really comfortable and the staff were super nice. In the same hotel there’s a perfect place for breakfast where they have both sourdough and rye bread, which is difficult to find anywhere else. They let us do a late checkout and accommodated us with everything we needed.

This is once in a lifetime experience for me personally and I thoroughly enjoyed my time here. I was able to meet other solo travelers and we had an amazing time together. The excursions were really fun and there was a never ending supply of food for the guests. The pool was amazing and so was the happy hour. Alcohol isn’t included in the fare but the prices aren’t that bad (even for a luxury cruise). The gym is excellent and I was able to sneak in an early morning workout. Fortunately, the weather was great when we were on the cruise and the sunset was fabulous to watch. Halong Bay had a lot of cruises around the area but I wouldn’t call it crowded. Also, amazing customer service. The pickup from Hanoi, the waiting area in Halong, the boarding and disembarking and finally the drop off. Essence Grand is running a fabulous service here and I wouldn’t hesitate to pay for it. The staff are quite amazing and honestly, they are the biggest reason why this cruise is a massive success. Thank you so much for making it a fabulous trip.
