Amazing location, right on a tea plantation. The property was spotlessly clean and the owners were super friendly and helpful. The traditional breakfast was very good, we really enjoyed it. Also the location is pretty good, we were able to get there by public bus from Chiayi and then continue onwards to Alishan. It’s also quite close to the Eryamping Trail, we went there for sunset and experienced the sea of clouds, I highly recommend it. Our only regret is that we couldn’t stay for at least one more day, that’s how much we enjoyed our time there.

Had a really nice stay there, the owner is friendly, communication with google translate works well. The accomodation is quite new and very clean, beds are comfortable, the price is great. Good location for solo travellers. You can also do the Eryanping trail from there or go to Alishan by bus.

The property is in the middle of a beautiful tea farms. The owner and staffs really extend their way to make their guesses as comfortable as they can. We were offered to be picking up and transfer to bus/train station. The host also offers round trip to neighbor Fenqihu for sightseeing. The host also takes us and their guesses to dinner if we would chose too. Special thanks to Wendy for your help and kindness and always with a smile :) Shizhuo and Fenqihu have many beautiful trails to explore. If you like nature and quietness, these towns are definitely worth your while to visit on your way to Alishan. Be aware that bus 7322 from Chiayi to Alishan does have a stop at Shizhuo but it was fulled (even with standing room) and we shared Taxi cost with another 2 people to Alishan. We tried to catch the 8:30 to 8:40 am bus (which leaves Chiayi at 7:10 am) might be the peak hour for visiting Alishan, but we also wanted to be at Alishan early. The host at Green Incense Homestay will help either transport or call a taxi for you to go to Alishan.

This hotel was the best hotel we have stayed at in Taiwan! It is a short walk up from the bus stop, and is surrounded by the most breathtaking views, imaginable! Whether that be the low, lying clouds or glorious sunshine you will not be disappointed with the views from the hotel! Archie was very welcoming and made us feel at home! The room itself was so clean and comfortable, and the view from the balcony was super! You can see the sunrise and the sunset!! The Internet was very good, and it had a little kitchenette on the side where you can make hot drinks or noodles . Every morning, we also had a delicious cooked breakfast, the first day was omelette, and the next day was a delicious toasted sandwich, and the cups of tea were like tea. You’ve never drank before; really really really delicious!!! We had a lovely evening, chatting with Archie and some guest visiting from Singapore, and although there is a slight language barrier, you never feel awkward talking to him . Archie’s wife and mother were also very kind and generous to us. Another point was mentioning is that this hotel is close to some very great hiking trails! You will never be stuck for places to hike and the views are phenomenal!
